I'm concerned about the old retired guy in the corner. Just don't see him at Burger King.

Nothing Amurican about BK...they are the ones that are trying to move their "HQ" outside USA...

I have nothing against BK...except the taste of their food...and their poorly made commercials...and their hilarious attempts at commercial branding.

Timmy's is all about what's good and tasty...and Canadian.

https://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/08/24/burger-king-in-talks-to-buy-tim-hortons/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0 I just put this up on the Facebook pages of Maria Elena - MEM, Tom and Pam - huron 52 and most importantly to the Facebook page of Billy Fitz - yamafitter. It is the least I could do for Gringo-Canuckistani International Relations, eh! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Beauty eh!

I think they are going to be using the creepy King as the new Timmy's mascot and only serve flame broiled donuts.
He is definitely creepy.

But he might fit right in with this crowd.

Burger King confirmed the deal on Tuesday; as part of the plan, Burger King would relocate its headquarters to Canada, a move that could lower its corporate taxes.
That was no earthquake, that was Yamafitter hitting the floor.

Sausage Croissan'wich and a ham 'n cheese Whopper coming to the Frost Backs with a smooth roast coffee.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm....I LOVE the Croissan'wich Double -- bacon, sausage and double cheese.

Wish I had one right now. But with a coffee from Hardee's (Carl Jr's for you left-coasters). Their coffee is better than BK's.

So...are the Canadians gonna have the triple Whopper with cheese at 3am after their ice fishing tournaments? Or will they have a Whaler?

Have it your way...

This is more serious than we think. Without regular Timmy stops, Billy is going to become a Canadian Maple Tree Twig! ...eh! (meaning quite skinny for you Amerks).

Are they getting rid of the Timmy's name?
Tax avoidance

The firms have said that any new group would have its headquarters in Canada, where corporate taxes are lower.

These so-called "tax inversion" deals are attracting increasing criticism in the US,

The US corporate tax rate is 35%, but 26.5% in Ontario, Canada, where Tim Hortons is based.

The companies will retain their separate brand identities, but save costs by sharing corporate services.

A match made in capitalist America.

****** burgers and ****** coffee.

Ya, I went there.

I rarely drink a Timmies coffee. Well, unless I'm constipated and looking for relief. Much rather go for a Rotten Ronnie's coffee.

At least it TASTES like coffee.

I've found that Timmies coffee seems to vary quite a bit by location. Stopped at one in Ontario a couple weeks ago and it had a really strange chemical flavor, but stopped at another and it was quite good (real coffee flavor). I suspect they do not have good QC across the franchise. OTOH you can go to any Dunkin Donuts on the east coast and it tastes about the same. Not spectacular, just the same.

What's Rotten Ronnie's Mickey D? I think they sell Newman's Own now. When they first started selling Newmans it was any size for a buck (99 cents actually) which made it a great deal when you needed some free wifi.

Peameal Whopper anyone?

I think its a outstanding way to stick it up those Canadians poopers , tims is holy grail to them, could start a war , where's john candy when you need him,lol

iirc, last time y'all had a war with us northern cousins it didn't end well fer y'all

Also, Timmie's doesn't even make good iced coffee anymore. Had one a few weeks ago and it was horrid!

I doubt there will be any change to Timmie's Canadian stores. There is a cult following and any change would cause customers to look elsewhere. It is possible that BK will introduce some Timmie's products into their line, or more likely BK will simply open more Timmie's stores in the USA to compete with Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. But, as said above, the driving force behind this deal is the tax savings. And that is exactly what a good business should do.

https://www.canadianpicnic.com/Home.html If this merger goes through, I may seriously look at buying a Tim Horton's Franchise here in Phoenix. I have told my Canuck friends for many years now that in the wintertime a Tim Horton's would be packed with snowbirds and the cash register would be ringing. There are many parts of the Valley of the Sun where the RV Parks and Trailer Courts are 100% packed with Canadians, they have an Annual Canada Days Weekend Picnic that bring in thousands of people eh. Arizona Tourism Bureau actively promotes Canuck Hosers to visit Zonie Land. jes' sayin' and nuff said, Beauty!

The only economic downside would be Summer, when the Frostbacks return Nord du Ligne. But then I'll have 'Zilla come over and cook up la Comida Mexicana!

So, they are calling it a merger, but it appears to be more of a buy-out to me. Owners of TH stock will get paid C$65.50 plus 0.8025 shares of the new company per share of Timmy's. BK stock owners don't seem to get anything except what they already have.

Hmmm...
