THERE'S the spirit!I don't see the point - with that much modification it can't be used as a bike anymore, and now it's weighed down getting the same milage with the same performance as a small car, but a lot less comfortible and a lot less fun than a bike.
Did you bother to go to the Hannigan site and look at their other "cars"? Somewhere on the neenernet there are pictures of various meets and some of FJRs with sidecars.Wow. I rather have my Ural. That thing is huge!
Thanks for the links. They have some really nice sidecars and have to give them credit. Still a little large for me but would like to see them in front of me. Still don't like that C-14 rig though.Did you bother to go to the Hannigan site and look at their other "cars"? Lookie here for "High Performance Sidecars.
Those are my thoughts as well. There may be a point in my life where it may be impossible to ride on only 2 wheels. I like it as an alternative over a trike. I just hope I won't be shopping for one anytime soon.Yeah, Hannigan makes some nice sidecars for sports and sport-touring bikes.
When the time comes that I can't ride on 2 wheels any longer (should I have leg problems, etc.) I'd consider putting one on my FJR.
100% correct. My wife can't stand the FJR but sorta likes the rig. She had back surgury a few years ago. Even agreed to a ride to the other side of the state later this summer to a historic town with me. Both my kids love it and I can take them both with me. A small car won't do it when you love to ride. :yahoo:There are a bazillion reasons for some to NOT want to do it.
There are very few who are willing to FIND the websites for the few who NEED to do it.
SUppose one has bad knees and can't hold the bike up?
Suppose one has a wife-unit who will not or CANNOT ride all day on the pikkion seat (bad lower back, whatever...)?
Suppose one would like to take their small grandchild (grand children) or nieces/nephews along?
Suppose one would like to ride with wife-oid and rider-lings as a family?
There are plenty of reasons if one happens to be an avid cyclist as opposed to driving their car. Of course, everyone else would need to be a bit more open-minded, understanding and tolerant of other's desires in their attempt to enjoy the freedom and pleasure derived from motorcycle-type adventures.
Oh I completely agree - and neither will a three wheeled car like thatA small car won't do it when you love to ride. :yahoo:
yeah, that thing is a little huge. Mine is itty bitty!
