I don't see the point - with that much modification it can't be used as a bike anymore, and now it's weighed down getting the same milage with the same performance as a small car, but a lot less comfortible and a lot less fun than a bike.

Yeah, Hannigan makes some nice sidecars for sports and sport-touring bikes.

When the time comes that I can't ride on 2 wheels any longer (should I have leg problems, etc.) I'd consider putting one on my FJR.

THERE'S the spirit!

It looks cool. That Goodyear Polyglas car tire on the front is what sets it off.

Wow. I rather have my Ural. That thing is huge!
Did you bother to go to the Hannigan site and look at their other "cars"? Somewhere on the neenernet there are pictures of various meets and some of FJRs with sidecars.

Lookie here for "High Performance Sidecars.
Thanks for the links. They have some really nice sidecars and have to give them credit. Still a little large for me but would like to see them in front of me. Still don't like that C-14 rig though.

Those are my thoughts as well. There may be a point in my life where it may be impossible to ride on only 2 wheels. I like it as an alternative over a trike. I just hope I won't be shopping for one anytime soon. :)

Cheers,

Joe

When I can't balance a bike anymore, I'll get a Can-Am Spyder. No way I'd want that ugly mess on my bike. I want a bike; not a 'conglomeration'.

There are a bazillion reasons for some to NOT want to do it.

There are very few who are willing to FIND the websites for the few who NEED to do it.

SUppose one has bad knees and can't hold the bike up?

Suppose one has a wife-unit who will not or CANNOT ride all day on the pikkion seat (bad lower back, whatever...)?

Suppose one would like to take their small grandchild (grand children) or nieces/nephews along?

Suppose one would like to ride with wife-oid and rider-lings as a family?

There are plenty of reasons if one happens to be an avid cyclist as opposed to driving their car. Of course, everyone else would need to be a bit more open-minded, understanding and tolerant of other's desires in their attempt to enjoy the freedom and pleasure derived from motorcycle-type adventures.

100% correct. My wife can't stand the FJR but sorta likes the rig. She had back surgury a few years ago. Even agreed to a ride to the other side of the state later this summer to a historic town with me. Both my kids love it and I can take them both with me. A small car won't do it when you love to ride. :yahoo:

Mamma Mia!, that thing starts at a mere $17,995.00

I'd think for that I'd just buy two C-14's and weld em together and save a few $k :)

I've seen some great looking trikes/side cars and even when I can't ride anymore, I don't think this is the route I'll go.
