Took the new Rocket out for a romp yesterday and have just had it with the stock screen. I'm ordering a new one Tommorrow. I'm interested in a +4 +2 setup. Elimination of wind noise and buffeting are my primary target areas. Can you "seasoned" forum gurus make a recommendation between the CAL SCI and the Cee bailey?

Looks like the CAL SCI has very limited lengths and widths to choose from and have included openings in their screen to reduce back pressure (even though i thought the 06 was already set up stock to reduce back pressure....i'd love to hear your comments concerning this also).

The CEE bailey seems to be alot more customizable to certain lengths, is cheaper in price, and doesent contain the cutouts for backpressure.

Give me what you got folks. i'm ordering tommorrow. I dont want to ride down to the honda hoot next month to ride the cherahola skyway with my head getting beat to death and my ears roaring.

thanx

I'm really happy with my Cal Sci short, but I haven't tried the Vstream. I had a Cee Bailey +2 in height. It was better than the stock screen for me, but there was back pressure with it in the higher positions.

I'm 5' 7" and I have a Sargent seat which is about the same height as the stock seat, and there is a real "sweet spot" on the new screen for me with it about two inches higher than the full down position.

Even the stock screen on the FJR is better than the small screen I have on the airplane!

It's too bad we can't try all the options out there before we have to make a purchase decision.

What year bike do you have? I don't think Cal Sci or Cee Bailey have a screen for the '06 yet.

I just bought the Cal Sci medium. In the down position there is just a little air at the top of my helment, wind noise and buffeting is almost nonexistent, :) raise it about 1"-2" and it's almost like riding in a cage. I'm actually concerned that it may be to effective in hot weather, I'll know in a month or two. I'm 5'-7", 29" inseam and always wear ear plugs. I highly recommend the Cal Sci if you want to eliminate wind noise and buffeting.

I've used both a C Bailey +4+3 and the Cal Sci tall screen. For me, there was really no comparison. I found the Cal Sci screen to be far better than the C Bailey. Less buffeting, less noise, and NO back pressure. But the new VStream I'm now using is even better yet. It has way less buffeting, is much quieter, and also has no back pressure. Hands down, the VStream is by far the best screen I've used.

Black Mamba,

Is this available for the 06? are there different sizes or is it a standard size?

GreyGoose....

I don't know if National Cycle has come out with a VStream for the '06 yet. I don't think so, but you can be sure they will. A quick call to them will let you know. I believe they come in one size only. I can't stress enough how much better this screen is, compared to any other I've tried.

Hi Guys...FWIW!

Cal Sci is supposed to have their screen for the '06 ready by end of May....like next week. National Cycle will have their VStream 06 model ready in late June.

Cee Bailey is shipping next week.

I have had the Cee Bailey and the Cal Sci and its Cal Sci hands down...BUT the Cee Bailey is certainly better than the stock screen.

I did order a Cee Bailey because they are selling them ...the first thing I will try is cutting the holes in it like the Cal Sci...I am prepared to order a Cal Sci though as soon as they are ready.

The Cal Sci Medium screen works great for me in Hot FL weather...a riding buddy has the Tall and likes it....depends on your ergos.....and then just to tantalize us...The V Stream!

Keep the reports coming...

black mamba,

How much taller is your Vstream? i'm only 5.6 with a 29 inch inseam. I dont mind a tall screen but i dont want to be looking through it in the "low position". how much taller and wider is this screen compared to stock?

thanx

Just called national cycle and the V stream shield for the 06 model will not be available untill the end of june. I had some problems gettting the dimensions of the shield out of customer service. Something like 2 inches higher and 3 inches wider that stock came out of him. but it sounded like he was guessing.

Who else has any positive (or negatives) experience with this v stream thing compared to our alternatives?
