I bought a used '04 FJR from a dealer in the Los Angeles area last Spring.
The bike was represented as having 27,000 miles, and the odometer read 27,010 when I picked up the bike.
Ive ridden the bike probably a half dozen times since then, not really paying attention to the odometer.
Until recently, when I noticed that the odometer read 45,000 miles!
Is there a logical explanation for this?
I did call the prior owner when I bought the bike, and when I mentioned the mileage at 27,010, he said no. But I didnt pursue that beacause I already had the bike, was back in Arizona, and it could only be unpleasant to pursue it. But I noted that there might be some form of issue with the mileage.
Is it possible that the dealer, who sold the bike on consignment, could have rolled back the odometer reading, and that after a period of time, that it would revert to the true mileage?
