Has anyone tried to get in touch with RZ?

I'm waiting on farkles in the mail. I wanted to get started this coming weekend so my list would not be so overwhelming.

I need to get in touch with jgreen also.

What have you got for the boys doing electrical stuff? What do I need to bring?

Also, you'll recall Mark (not a part of our forum) was our host in Tampa. He's not gonna be able to make it. He normally works on Saturdays.

Also, do you need for us to bring any snacks or ??

Concerning the throttle body synch (TBS), I've already done that and can walk ya through, it's a piece of cake as long as you don't lose those little rubber caps for the vacuum ports; they're sooooo tiny. You'll need a suitable method to hold up the tank. I used a 1x2 and I forget the length. Can ya cut up something on the spot as needed? I'll leave my motion pro home as it seems we're covered this time.

By the way, anybody have a seal-mate? If nobody's gonna do a fork oil change, at least those with seeping seals can get em cleaned out, just takes a couple seconds.

Earth Rooster... we'll let cha off the hook this time, but ya better not miss the next one. Looking forward to meeting you. Good luck on the house. Remember Murphy's law on closing day. Everything that can go wrong... WILL !!! Be prepared.

I have "lots" of electrical stuff; but individual components are welcome to make sure I have it. But for the most part I have wire, shrink tubing, terminals, and some switches.

If there's something special anyone wants to snack on or drink, bring it. MM is bringing dogs, and we'll have the mac'n'cheese. I'll also lay in some soft drinks and of course plenty of Mims well water!

Vic - what kind of setup do you have for holding the tank up? I don't have anything special, but do have bits of lumber that could be attached to the overhead along with an eyebolt or similar. I've been meaning to build one of those pipe stand "skyhooks" but yet to get that done.

I have two full bike lifts (Handy lifts), a motorcycle jack (the kind with two rubber cushioned arms & fits completely under the bike), and a scissor jack used with a piece of wood to lift under the pipes for front wheel servicing. I also have a small regular floor jack that could be pressed into service as well. I use that mainly for automotive needs, but it's small enough for the bike I think.

I use a little 4 gal pancake air compressor, but it gets the job done for many chores. I have a bigger 60 gallon upright in the other garage but it's not hooked up.

I don't have a seal mate, so yes bring yours. I'd like to see that done (oil change).

Vic,

Don't doubt Niehart's forcasting skills. Those Pacific Northwest fellers know all there is to know about lousy weather.

I spoke with Jim and Sharon Cook as well as Mark Legg, our December host. They're all unable to make it this time: just so ya know.

I'll be coming and I plan on being H-U-N-G-R-Y. So I got dibbs on the first 9 hotdogs. Gotta get my energy back up to be able to put up with all you's guys. It's a lengthy ride across the Sunshine State and it better not be raining; don't wanna mess up my PRETTY hair.

Gary, the 18th shows up on my iPhone's weather channel app already. It's says: 0% chance of rain for the whole weekend at Mims. So..... Nahh Nahh NahNah Nahhhh! :))

Thanks, Jim. I might just load up all my lights and Fuzeblocks and ride down there for a day or two. I'll trade ya dinner and drinks for some help with wiring.

Weather Underground forecast for the 18th:

Saturday
Mainly sunny. High 59F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

I can bring my home made sealmates .........and another 4x2 gas tank prop!

Weather sounds good, lets hope it stays that way.

Jim, I got a tailbag that I can bring something in. If you think of anything, let me know. Don't want you footing any bill for this.

Yes, likewise from me. Was going to bring beers but would all the shaking about set them off? I dunno.

Also, have some bike parts that I've changed out/bought and never used that I could bring if anybody might be interested in making offers. Among the smaller and easier things to bring are a N/line dash shelf and Givi box plastic mounting base. Both used, as is all the stuff but in v good condition....just not getting around to putting it in the classified section!

I'm pretty well setup tool-wise except for the things noted before. This event has motivated me to do some cleaning and reorganizing in the shop, so that's in full swing this week - the new floorplan ought to work out great! The worst part of things now is when I/we need something special and I know I have it - somewhere. I have tons of tools collected over a lifetime of working shipyards, KSC, and the USN. I am in the process of slimming down and culling things to what I need. I have most frequent used tools hanging on a big pegboard and organizing my spares in two top/bottom toolboxes (The rest I'll sell at swapmeets or ebay).

Any "consumables" you think you'll need - yes, bring them. I'm out of filters and low on oil, and may not use the same as you do anyway (I use Purolators and Shell Rotella Syn). I do need to go to town this week and dump oil at the recyclers; if there is something you want me to pick up as in oil or filters and pay me when you get here, let me know. Sooner would be better than later; I'll probably do that Thursday.

I do have a local Yam/Suz dealer (Spaceport Cycles) if you have to have Yamaha parts/oil/filters. They are pretty much full price on parts (vs discounters on line), but I still buy some things there. This is where I bought my FJR.

Gary has sent wheel weights and if you ask him nicely, maybe he'll let you use some on your tirechange. I do have two good used PR2 rears (they each were replaced before a big trip/LD), and a new Conti-Motion front I'd sell reasonably if anyone is interested. For that matter, I have a new PR2 rear I'd sell too - just order me in another one.

It looks to be a cool morning that day. Lows in Central Florida will be 39, high that day 59-62, so hope this doesn't deter anyone. I do have a few heaters for the shop if we want to close the doors.

Does everyone understand how to get here?
