... but saves 4 days of flat boring riding (and vacation time.)
It would be a mind numbing journey. "Go West young man". I'd make the trip from here to there to see the Canadian Rockies, but you need your head examined if you would make the trip from there to here just to see the Minnesota / Wisconsin bluff country.

edit: Two days travel from accross the Northern Great Plains... when I first read it, I thought you were talking about four days.

Post-itinerary (from a similar trip -- other direction):

Overnights:

  • Day 1: Super 8, Fergus Falls MN
  • Day 2: Trapper Inn, Belfield ND
  • Day 3: Motel ?, Havre MT
  • Day 4: Motel ?, Drumheller AB
  • Day 5: Private Home B&B, Jasper AB
Five days across the Northern Great Plains -- but, we weren't bored (at least I wasn't :) ).

I see the CDN Rockies every morning out my window! Only passed through Minnesota / Wisconsin in cage a couple of times.

Sorry! A little unclear. That's 2 there and 2 back.

I'm kicking the idea around for Spring Trip 2009
Much better off going west lower and up through Calgary and then into BC. That'd be perfect timing for CFR 2009 in Nakusp, BC too! :D See you there?

Well, I might be able to make the long ride to...

Wait, where in town are we doing this thing?

Seriously, who do I talk to about this? Even though I am so very distant, perhaps I can be of some assistance?

Chris

I know that I have been lax in getting this information up. But we have plenty of time guys. And dates have been up so you can get your vacation set up. I have talked to twisted cricket and the information should go live this week. Sorrry for the delay.

We've all decided to stay at your crib, and throw an "Animal House" style party. :drinks: :clapping: :punk:

GUNNY!!

TOGA TOGA TOGA TOGA...

and

"FOOOOOOOD FIIiIIGHT"

ok, not all of us are so childish, but those who are will convince the others it's a great idea :)

I plan on being there. Was at the 05 event. Hotter than hell. First thing that I heard when pulling in to the motel parking lot was the sound of a saw. The maintenance man was making small blocks of plywood to put under our sidestand to keep our bikes from sinking in the fresh asphalt in the parking lot.

This time I will be on my 1200 GS Adventure due to the untimely demise of my FJR last spring over by Hooterville in SE MO with a few of you guys last year. Will bring my fishing gear and go Muskie fishing up in Minocqua, WI after the ride.

5th Anniversary? I think that's a typo...you mean 4th. The first was in LaCrosse in 2005 with Mr Valetz as the webmaster/organizer.

Not that anyone cares, but I am still working out my fall rally schedule...probably get it worked out after CFR.

2005 - 1st2006 - 2nd

2007 - 3rd

2008 -4th

2009 - fifth time getting together, right?
yep...but that and anniversaries are two different things. 2009 -2005 = 4 years.

Did you celebrate your honeymoon and 1st anniversary on the same night?

Do you celebrate your one year employment anniversary on the first day of your job?

Didn't say it was important...just that it was wrong.

I've never celebrated a honeymoon, so no :p

I've also never been excited about working or how long I've been stuck in a cube at the same building... haha

But if you've attended a conference or made the same trip to a group gathering, how do you tell them how many times you've gone? "Oh, we started in 2004, but we really don't count that one" :p

Essentially we have the wording wrong ;) - it should be the "5th Annual" not "5th Anniversary", right?

I totally agree with you on that...and that it is a small matter.

Can't argue with logic like that....
