Made it back home aroung 17:00. No rain but a very borrrrring ride home on straight roads, compared to all of those squiggly roads around the La Crosse area.

Was nice to meet a bunch of you in person, had a great time. I wasn't aware that such awesome roads were so close. Thanks Rick for stepping up and organzing such a fine event.

Gramps,

Thanks for the tip on those stick on cheater lenses that you had on your sunglasses. I ordered 4 pairs of them last night. Will make reading maps and GPS much easier while riding down the highway. www.stickonlenses.net

Radman,

Everyone I spoke to, myself included, asked if there was anyway they could help. People even asked if they should drive you home in a car and ride your bike for you.

Everyone expressed concern about your well-being....

Even if you say things like "I'm going to get on Frank and ride him hard all weekend".

Made it home fine but got caught in one heck of a traffic jam going through Chicago. I want to thank everyone for making my first CFO an amazing experience.

Made it home Yesterday afternoon. Had a great time at my first event and hope to attend more.

It was great meeting and talking with everyone and I had a gret ride Saturday with Dale (O7FJRSD) Chet and Doug (sorry guys, don't remember your forum names). Thanks for letting me tag along.

Even got to try my uphill u-turn in gravel skills. quite exciting on an AE. Would have been a shame to drop her with my sliders sitting on the workbench at home.

Thanks to Rick and all those involved with making this happen. I had a great time.

Hey, install your sliders! Having sliders but not having them installed is bad luck!

We're home, but the bike isn't. There was a nasty noise coming from the front (wheel, I'm guessing bearings now). Alex and others (scoobyvroom) took a peek in the parking lot Saturday before the banquet, but without tools there wasn't going to be any further repairs. It's at my dad's (1.5hrs from LaCrosse) when we made the decision to borrow a car from my parents. It was a really boring cage-ride home, but it's probably for the best.
Gary already has an email from me for a list of parts. Hopefully he can get them to me by Friday. I plan to get back up to my parents and get it fixed. I really hope it is the bearings and that they haven't damaged the rim.

We had a great time in great weather! Thanks Rick!
I saw you guys messing with the front wheel on someone's bike in the parking lot, but I didn't know what was going on. If you'd said something, I could have run over and grabbed my tools.
Um, Chris I heard you tell the story of the engine extraction from the Neon (it involved axes) not so sure I'd want your help :bleh:

We only used them as big hammers...we needed a little extra clearance in the wheel wells.

isn't that the best way to fix a Neon??? :p

4KLESS has generously offered the use of his spare rim/tire; I think I've found bearings/seals locally (Gary McCoy doesn't have them in stock) and my plan is to get the bike home this coming Saturday.

Took roads less travelled back to the eastern side of Wisconsin, avoiding the dreaded "slab" , arriving home Sunday afternoon.

Had a great time this past weekend and thanks to all who made the event possible!

Was surprised to see that I was the only one at the event with an "old" '03 FJR!! Made it easy to find the bike!!

Though I didn't spend as much time as I thought I would riding, I had a great time anyway. Got to shoot the bull, kick a tire or two, help out a friend and see other FJR's! What's not to like?

I was the slow one Sunday as I was the last to leave the parking lot. Takes the pressure off, being only a few hours from home. Got back later Sunday afternoon. I'll be back to that area. The wife is happy with the 10-year cheddar I picked up for her too.

Thanks again Rick, Devonator, Oface, Jackson and any others that made this possible. Sorry I missed any names. Don't forget to make our "sponsers" know you appreciate what they contributed too.

mr.paul, from Minnesota

I rode Frank home in great pain, almost left him in Rochester at a gas station or something, but ended up draggin' his *** and mine all the way. By the way, coulda died in that room, almost did, and though I understand some questions were raised as to why Frank was there with no sign of me, it apparently was left at that, lets git outta here! As a result, I do believe I have been to my last organized ride. Thanks for asking everyone........ <_<

Wow, claim down there Rad, if you remember I expressed my concerns BEFORE you put yourself in the hospital, and I did take the time to find out that A. you where at a hospital, B. that the hospital had it under control, and C. you where going to be OK, and D. they where going to release you the next day. I'm just sorry you had to leave before I could see you, and yes we did discuss the best way to get you home with minumin trama and actually had a plan.....................but as for as I can tell you and Frank left us before we could get to you. Yes I feel bad that more wasn't done on your behalf, but comeon guy next time, if there is a next time give us a chance.

Hey Radman, I know several people were asking about how you were, and I thought we were gonne see you Sat when you got out of the hospital. I was ready to slap you around a little like I did Thurs nite, you ornery cuss! But you're right, I didn't bring you flowers or candy or any of the numerous pork ribs I ate... I am glad you are home and doing better and sorry I didn't come visit you in the hospital. Thought you were getting out and would be at the banquet.

Ride home day one was nice, with Jackson and 07FJRSD it seemed like one more day at the rally! We did learn an interesting fact about Minnesota - you can go up to 10 over when passing (new law as of this year). :assassin: Day 2 I awoke to the sound of heavy rain, and was so relieved to find it was only the coffee pot! :yahoo: The wind whipped the heck outa my neck tho. Bike is at the shop for an oil change, and as usual, the Yamaha dealer where I go for maintenance is trying to get me onto a FZ1 or cruiser (he says "touring," I know better).

Thanks Devorator and Rick for planning the event; it wsa great as usual, the people, the scenery, with such amazing swag!!!!

Not quite home to Ca until I fly out Sunday morning but I did return the Goldwing yesterday with an additional 2,555 miles and NO performance awards! If only lane splitting was legal...

I left early Sunday morning for Kalamazoo, nice ride except the redneck driving the pickup with 8" chrome stacks (you know the type) who let me know I was #1 somewhere on I-80.

Enjoyed a self guided tour of the Mackinaw Icebreaker after a few adult beverages well after dark but that's another story. I did get by the Gay Bar but only for a picture, ran out of land once (wrong turn which had a dead end 20 miles later) and used the post office in Copper Harbor, Mi.. Rode some great roads along Lake Michigan and Superior but Saturdays ride in southern Wi was some of the best.

Big thanks to Rick and the crew for a fine event.

Enjoyed meeting new faces to go with the forum handles.

Mackinaw City would be a good place for CFO 2010... just sayin'

Some good riding in the area, plus other attractions, stayed at the Best Western just off the lake by the bridge. reasonable prices and motorcycle friendly.
