Left about 6:30 this morning, 33 though Wild Cat mountain, had to take it slow lots of fog that early in the morning. The good news is by the time I turned South on 78 all the fog had burned off and 78 has brand new pavement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Roll On. :yahoo:

Only rain for the whole week was an hour out from home got caught up in a good old Midwestern soaker, a steady downpour with a lighting bolt thrown in here and there.

Just got back a little while ago. Had a fantastic time...hope we get as lucky next year with the weather.

I'll second that, great job Rick!!

I got a little later start than you 'boss. Got all the loose ends taken care of and by the time I got outa there it was almost 11:00. But I wasn't the last to leave one other bike left in the lot.

I followed the Root River west to US-52 then home, nuttin but good ol' Midwestern sunshine for me.

Good times, good times.

I'm not quite home yet, I'm within 40 miles though. I got a call from my dad yesterday saying, "where are you? We have hay to unload Sunday afternoon." OK, got here about 1 today and didn't see any hay bales. My dad pulls in and says, "the hay was still wet, it will be ready tomorrow but I need help putting up a fence." Which means that he has done the easy part and now I need to finish what he claims he is now too old for. Well, now the fence is up and I get to come back tomorrow for the hay. Oh well, it's good exercise… and now I’m relaxing enjoying my cheese curds I didn’t forget in my hotel room.

Nice to finally put some faces to the forum handles.

Made it back. Got an early start so I could spend a little time with the fam before I hit the rack, (work 3rd shift). Had a great time, the routes were awesome, and the location was good.

Sorry about bailing on ya Gramps/Joe. Just woke up early, and felt like getting home.

I rolled in a couple hours ago... the wife was bugging me about the new jacket as soon as I walked in the door :angry2: See if she lets me keep it It was nice meeting everyone I had the chance to talk with and put some names with faces. That is a really nice area to ride in that was my 3rd time down there this year :yahoo: Just make sure to keep an eye out for the Amish Exhaust

My son David and I weren't really part of CFO, but Rick let us come visit. Thanks Rick!

I had a great time riding the twisty roads with my son on his first real ride on the back of my FJR. In sunshine no less!

Well, except from the Byron, IL Nuc plant and home. It was a perfect trip...let him experience the rain as well as the sunshine. He didn't mind the rain...so I think he is made of touring material. 400 miles of good roads both days for an 800 mile weekend for his first trip.

I think he is getting psyched to save up for that Ninja 250!

In fact, at our last bathroom stop, a Ninja 250 pulled up to the pump, as well as MY first bike...a 1977 Honda CB550 Supersport. A sign?

Anyways, a great weekend, thanks to Rick for letting us visit, and Marty (0face) for letting David and I bunk in his room Saturday night.

Dad and I got two hours of downpour toward the end of the ride home. Better on the straight, flat roads of Illinois than the curvaceous ones of Wisconsin. I remembered the cheese of Wisconsin and the apples I got in Michigan. Good stuff. Big thanks to everyone who took the time to put this event together. And WDOT for keeping those roads so nice. Hope everyone made it home safely.

We're home, but the bike isn't. There was a nasty noise coming from the front (wheel, I'm guessing bearings now). Alex and others (scoobyvroom) took a peek in the parking lot Saturday before the banquet, but without tools there wasn't going to be any further repairs. It's at my dad's (1.5hrs from LaCrosse) when we made the decision to borrow a car from my parents. It was a really boring cage-ride home, but it's probably for the best.

Gary already has an email from me for a list of parts. Hopefully he can get them to me by Friday. I plan to get back up to my parents and get it fixed. I really hope it is the bearings and that they haven't damaged the rim.

By the way, coulda died in that room, almost did, and though I understand some questions were raised as to why Frank was there with no sign of me, it apparently was left at that, lets git outta here! As a result, I do believe I have been to my last organized ride. Thanks for asking everyone........ <_<

could have died? I heard you were in the hospital, but I never asked why. didn't feel it was any of my business and pestering people about it seems to just fuel rumors. Now if you would prefer that some wild-*** rumors be spread; there was a nice looking hooker asking for "Frank's better looking friend" in the lobby. I didn't equate "Frank" with your bike....and I couldn't think of any forum member named Frank or who his buddy might be.

it's unfortunate that you're taking that stance with organized rides. My pillion and I left on our own, rather late, on Friday morning and had a blast on the roads, even without others. We followed Jackson and AmazingGrace on Saturday after asking if we could tag along. It's up to you to make sure you're with a group if you want to. Or make your own fun.

Wow, claim down there Rad, if you remember I expressed my concerns BEFORE you put yourself in the hospital, and I did take the time to find out that A. you where at a hospital, B. that the hospital had it under control, and C. you where going to be OK, and D. they where going to release you the next day. I'm just sorry you had to leave before I could see you, and yes we did discuss the best way to get you home with minumin trama and actually had a plan.....................but as for as I can tell you and Frank left us before we could get to you. Yes I feel bad that more wasn't done on your behalf, but comeon guy next time, if there is a next time give us a chance.

I saw you guys messing with the front wheel on someone's bike in the parking lot, but I didn't know what was going on. If you'd said something, I could have run over and grabbed my tools. Heck, I bet all the tools necessary to pull the front wheel are sitting in a little tupperware container from when I replaced my tires earlier this summer!

So you said there was a nasty noise, was there any excess play or a funny feeling through the bars?
