Well now that we've got all that signup, deadlines, t-shirts and PayPal stuff out of the way lets work on something important. Like where we're going for dinner Thursday night :big_boss:

It's become a bit of a tradition I guess with the smaller group that's there early we all or at least most of us head to dinner together. I'm open to ideas from anyone especially LaX locals who are in the know. The place needs to be able to handle a bit of a crowd, like 20. I've found this place the Red Pines Bar and Grill, looks good, came recommended the only drawback so far is at 8:00 on Thursdays they start some fricken DJ Trivia BS

We can be outta there by then and back to the hotel to do some serious taste testing of the New Glarus Brewing's finest offerings.

Any other ideas??

Menu looks good, just get me out before I throw a boot at the DJ.

not all DJ's, but around here most like the sound of their own voice over playing the music.

Guess it's better late than never...all signed up !! Hope to hit the road early Thursday am and meander my way up there. Maiden voyage on the FJR :)

There's going to be singing and boot tossing!!! Sign me up.

I'm getting excited for this trip. I leave this Friday and will take the long way to get to CFO. Is the Mackinaw Bridge really as scary as everyone says? Is it metal grate?

0Face is right wind is a bigger issue but some people get really wigged out over the grate thing the grate is only in the left lane I think it's cool to look down to the water. If you've got time stop at a little restaurant called Audie's, take the last exit before the bridge just a block or so north. The walls are covered with some great B+W photos of the bridge construction and the food's good too.

Personally, I wouldn't bother taking the ferry over to Mackinac island. It's really touristy.

I wasn't planning on taking the ferry. I like to sightsee at 70 mph. What I miss in quality, I make up in quantity.

The bridge can be kind of interesting especially with wind. If you get a chance and haven't experienced Legs Inn (great resturant middle of know where) you need to google it. Also tunnel of tree's is a pretty cool ride. Leland is a neat old fishing village. Just not sure which way your going.

Ride safe !!!

That long of a ride over a grated bridge freaks me out. Just my bad luck, every time I cross that bridge the right hand paved lane is closed for bridge maintenance but at least I've never had to cross it with a high wind blowing.

REAL men aren't afraid of heights or crosswinds.
