Cheap HID Aux lights

Will they work with Garauld's bracket? I would love to swap my FF50s for a set of the HIDs. I could really drive DR. Rich crazy with those.

No they will not. The HID is much larger than your average setup. I've purchased a set of Garauld's brackets years ago and if they are still the same design, the lights rear housing would contact the fairing.

I have Garauld's brackets with the FF50s mounted on top of the bracket. It looks like these 4" might work if mounted from the bottom, but not having one to test or measure I just don't know. Wheen you say that they won't, were you referring to a typical top mount or either way? Thanks.

I just held one up next to my Garauld bracket that has a Hella DE micro mounted to it already and it looks like it might just fit mounted to the bottom, but barely. you might have to use some sort of standoff to get it away from the fairing so you could aim it.

I however think the bracket, as it is would bounce enough to make it unfeasible . YMMV.

Thanks. I was wondering about the weight like you said even if they would fit. I'll keep monitoring the thread and wait and see what brackets the "wizards" come up with.

Making progress. I'll bend these up tonight and make any necessary tweaks.

I'm not sure if I should carry this as a kit including light or not. What does everyone think?

My main concern is clearing all the optional windscreens. I'm planning on mounting mine tucked in just above the mirro mounts. They will be protected from any tip overs as well as keeping a slim profile. Mount them up high will project the light further down the road also.

I think they will fit all years. I'm trying to remember back when I had the 04 but I think they used the 2 hold mounting arrangement also. Would you want to test fit a pair?

Please update us on your recent experiences with the cheapo HID lights. Are they working OK? Any problems? I'm thinking about getting a set, but you're the expert, so I'm anxious for some guidance.

The 2 hold mounting has been carried into the GenII bike that is why I think they should work just fine. I've created a new thread for those that want to keep track of my progress. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=124633
