Living The Dream
I've been wanting to make a cheesesteak run from the Albany, NY area for a long time. Any interest from others here? I'm thinking Pat's or Gino's or both???
Mmmmmm. I used to get the best cheese steak from a place that cooked in an old railroad car in Passaic, NJ next to the bridge to Wallington. I don't know if they're still there and I probably wouldn't enjoy all that grease these days, but they were good.I've been wanting to make a cheesesteak run from the Albany, NY area for a long time. Yep. Six hours each way for lunch?!? What's wrong with me?Anyway, where is Pat's or Gino's? You talking about scooting down to Phildelphia for the day?
I'm a wit onions guy. I'll let you know if/when I pick a date.I'm down there quite often. Let me know when you're going. I prefer Pat's. Wiz wit-out
How can I turn down that offer. But, I ride in front!Count me in. I always welcome the opportunity to **** my pants all the way back to Jersey.
And...if you're heading this way you'll go right past my house. I can meet on the NJ Tpk.
I like Jim's on South Street and haven't found a reason to try any other in Philly.I've been wanting to make a cheesesteak run from the Albany, NY area for a long time. Any interest from others here? I'm thinking Pat's or Gino's or both???
It does until you taste it. Now any cheesesteak without wiz is not right. An hour north of Philly where I live they try to put marinara sauce on them. It's an aberration I tell ya.Funny to run across this right now. I watched a show on the Food Network this last week all about these two places, so I read this thread. Same conclusion here as there: each place has its own devoted fans. Personally, I'd like to try one of each (but the Cheeze-Whiz part seems kind of, uh, wrong).
