I'm struggling with whether or not to get a Roadcrafter or maybe the the light version.

Thanks for the bump.

Reread Marty's ride report just to be sure I would know when and if I was having a bad day.

About Chicago traffic. I kind of miss it.

After being in Tucson for a few months, kinda feels like some of the excitement is gone.

Thread's not deleted. It is never over. Quite frankly, except for your personal tragedies on this trip, this is one of the best reading RRs ever. I especially liked the part about you trying to get a rent a ride from Jimmy Johns! :)

I didn't know about this until this thread got resurrected. And here I thought I had some "interesting" adventures.

Good on ya Marty for making lemonade out of lemons!

I went down on a trip like yours only I managed to go down on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Same thing, I wrecked the bike, but walked away just very soar. Same thing, the insurance said I had more farkels than coverage, so I went and got the RDL seat, side cases, Ram mount, and such before I Virginia. My insurance had travel interruption so they paid for my rental car, hotels and meals to get home. The also gave me $10,500.00 for the bike that I'd bought 8 months and 25k miles earlier for $6,200.00. I couldn't complain about Foremost Insurance, but still hated losing the bike.

Glad you were OK and took it in stride.

BTW Ilive about 20 minutes from you and go to Southern Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio about once a month for a Friday through Sunday. If you are interested ever let me know.

Also, something you probably already know, there is an old fashioned drive in on the east edge of Tell City, IN (on IN 66) that makes incredilbe shakes and malts.

Missed this one the first time around...damn Marty, you do have some adventures!

I'm sorry. But I just like him calling Jimmy Johns and trying to negotiate a ride. I would loved to hear both sides of that conversation. And his wife's comment to knock it off, yer creepin' everybody out...Priceless.

That just cracks me up! :D
