Have you considered Utah? Lots of snow but gorgeous!

I also have a friend in Napa, but I'd go furthur north.... just skip Oregon... go straight to Washington... and watch out for the tons of Barney Fifes when you ride....

And not as hot, either. I have family in Las Vegas and I've never visited. Having spent 3 years @ China Lake Naval Weapons Center, I had enough of that kind of heat.

Mary, Pahrump is supposed to be a little better, since its about 50 miles Northwest of Las Vegas in the foothills.
