I HATE FRIGGING CHIP-N-SEAL!

My daily commute just got a lot more interesting. The state decided they would seal the road I take to and from work. I was unaware they were going to do it until it was to late,I was already into it. I rode on it for about 3 miles until I could find an alternate path. The feej did not like that **** at all. It gave me the feeling that the front end was going to slip out from under me at any given moment. PHUK THAT!

Options-

1. Take my normal path of about 15 miles to work, over freshly sealed 2 lane high-way.

2. Take 22 miles of narrow dear infested country back roads with lots of blind intersections. Not to mention all the farm equipment thats starting to move. Yep! nothing like cresting a hill and coming face to face with a big *** tractor.

3. Or, just take the Jeep.

The really bad part is this time of year it tends to get foggy as hell in the A.M.

That's nearly all that gets applied around here. Just be glad they did it this time of year, instead of you finding out on your way home in the dark.

Pray for rain is all I can say. A couple hard rains will wash the loose stuff away and leave a decent surface. Oh, and buy plenty of extra tires. Soon enough, people on this forum will be making fun of your throttle management because you are burning through a set of tires every 2,500 miles.

I still have the scars (literally, not figuratively) from wiping out on my bicycle, after hitting a pile of excess chip at the bottom of a hill in Woodbury, MN. Not a big deal for cars, but that pile of chips caught my front wheel and threw me right down. The scrapes leaked for days...

I especially like the part where they remove the asphalt down to the roadbed, then soak the roadbed with generous amounts of water.....................Slicker than dog snot on a door knob.

Ya gotta love it when you get on a freshly ground resurfaced road. Big fun there.

I don't think this Road will be to bad for long.It didn't look like they put the gravel on too heavy

We rode through lots of that crap in Wyoming as well. Damn chips flew everywhere...

Fresh chipseal sucks! But it doesn't suck for long. A few days, some rain, some cool temps and the loose stuff is all piled at the edge and center of the road. Eventually it goes away. Tar snakes, on the other hand, suck forever. A very popular choice around here, tar snakes (AKA slip strips, asphalt cement) are awful when it rains, it gets hot or it gets cold.

The good folks at your local or state highway department are trying to preserve the pavement for as long as possible. It should come as no surprise that motorcycle safety is not near the top of their priority list.

That is no lie right there... Pretty much from the Utah boarder to Cheyenne .
