Those rear crash bars look like they would protect the bags and pipes, two of the most easily damagaed parts for those of us who have sliders installed up front. If someone were to make something similar that would not interfere with a pillion it would be very interesting. They would probably have to be tucked under the lower front part of the bag or maybe more forward and angled somehow. Silver to match the frame.

Wow! Information and communication from a Yamaha employee. Will wonders never cease?
Why can't they do that in this country?
They don't reply if you write them in the USA? It's very normal here to be able to contact the distributor and get answer for questions you may have.

First of all can anyone say "F**king hideous"

Second can you give this guy a back pack?

Third they are for mounting bags not to be used as a bumper!

Man some people don't care what they look like when they go out!!! :D

Yeah, like that chick in your avatar! YUCK! ;)
You can't possibly be serious. Whether you like her attitude or not no one with 2 eyes can say she is not attractive...

PVC parts on a bike though are like PVC roll cages just don't belong... :D

Moreno PD south east of San Bernadino just bought one and are in the possess of testing it and if it works out they are going to buy 50 more from the Yamaha dealer here in Corona, hope it works for them Huntington Beach Pasadena have gone to st1300's in there test. :p

rogerfjrfaster :D

If you watched roadrashes police video, you'll notice an interesting version of a touring screen with cutouts in it. They may aid in reducing some air buffeting/aid chest cooling. I wonder if that screen is available in the civilian aftermarket?

BTW - I was LOL when I saw the PVC solution I posted above. One of the more ridiculous things I've seen on a bike though the milk crate isn't far behind. Anyway, with the original post I couldn't resist poking fun... :bleh:

100 purchases of the fairing extension doesn't seem out of reach. I wonder if we could interest someone like Joos or Kim to stock them.

I know I'd definately want one.

dobias <_<

..........but the 100watt siren will pose a problem.
After reading the whole thread a couple of things come to mind: First, wonder what all that police faring does for the heat problem in the summer when riding in high 90 degree temperatures? Second, I understand that we are limited with regard to alternator output & only have a little over an extra hundred watts (continous) available for farkles. Having said that I doubt if the occassional use of a siren would be a problem along with the use of the "I'm after you lights". I say that because they are not normally on continious and are probably LED's (the lights) which consume much less power. The police radio would also normally be in the receive mode which draws less current than in the much less used transmit mode. Some time back one of the items discussing police use of the FJR mentioned a second battery & the fact that those particular FJR's were put on small battery chargers over night when not being used. This makes a lot of sense. We should not confuse our continous loads like lights, heated garments, etc with an occassional short term load. Our battery like all others is a storage device, and the use of a second one doubles that storage. Just my thoughts. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Ron

I agree with the siren and light draw minimal wattage, probably LED on the lights, but it would be funny after a long chase after some drunk thanksgiving suspect and with the siren going, having the officer asking his fellows for a battery jump! :D
