+1, Gunny; I've loved the Colt 1911 ever since Uncle Sam gave me my first one in 1968, bought my own personal 1911 in 1971. I don't understand the Glock fascination, never have understood it!Before it goes off track. I do love my Colt 1911. :yahoo:
got lifted off my chair...picture would have finished the job4" matte stainless Python in .357 mag
Here ya go. 1999 stainless Anaconda1 on top, 1996 stainless Python2 in the middle, 2007 Sig P-220 Equinox on the bottom. Those are original grips on the Colts for those years, and the Sig is wearing a Crimson Trace Laser Grip (its original gray stained walnut stocks are in the safe, and my P-229 Equinox (in .40 S&W) is set up the same way). Sorry about the picture quality, but I just don't seem to have the knack for photographing small still objects like guns -- something about me not getting the light even close to right, and my backgrounds suck. :glare:got lifted off my chair...picture would have finished the job4" matte stainless Python in .357 mag
(mine's in blue)
Agreed, I've watched semi auto shooters hunt and hunt for their spent brass at the range, while I just dump mine out of the cylinder into my bag. Never needed more than one round from a .44 to kill whatever I was shooting, be it deer, groundhog, or fox. My Super Blackhawk with 2 power Leupold and my 240 gr. Sierra handloads will keep most in a 6" group at 100 yards from a good rest. It would be a bit much to carry around everywhere on a daily basis, though. To each his own...I love the 1911 but I'm a wheel man. S & W 686, 3inch to carry. A first gen Ruger blackhawk 6 inch. Now all I need is a small frame 38 or 357 throw away
+2 a Pro Carry II and a Custom Super Match here.+1 for 1911!! Although mine is a Kimber Gold Match. Only other non 1911 I would even consider is a Sig P220.
+1 There should be a national holiday for Mr. Browning to honor his timeless designs.Spent 5 month working in downtown Riyadi Saudi Arabia in 97-98. Gift to myself was to order a
slighly customized Les Baer Premier II. There's a story behind the weapon about the gun dealer
going out of business and wanting to keep my already paid for LB. My wife was tipped off that the
gun had come in by a fellow shooter. She camped out on the dealers door step until he showed
up and would not leave til he turned it over to her. I was still in Saudi at the time.
For me there is nothing I'd rather shoot than this weapon.
Thank you John Moses Browning for giving us the amazing 1911.
