I will have to disagree on "Colt" not being one of the better ones as far as current production goes. I have three, all Colt 1911's of different styles that so far have been outstanding. In fact they are markedly superior to my older Colts in accuracy, reliabilty, fit and finish thus far. I have had some in the past that were turds though, two of which were vaunted Series 70's, but my newer ones continue to impress me.Because Colts rock, and Glocks suck!My Q is - why choose Colt vs Glock?
Haha...Just kidding.
I think it kind of went 1911 vs. Glock, but not sure. I do know that I wouldn't buy a Colt 1911 unless it was an older one that I would buy to collect. There are a lot of really nice 1911 pistols out these days, and Colt is not one of them. Now...My Colt AR15? I love that rifle, and if something catastrophic happened to it, I would replace it with another Colt the next day.
As with motorcycles, opinions are like ********...Everyone has one. I love my 1911s, but I also really like my Sigs. As much as I talk crap about Glocks, my off-duty gun is a Glock 27 that I absolutely love. I don't like that fact that Glock's quality has seemed to suffer in recent years, while S&W and others have improved, but Glock will pay for that in the end, not me.
Either way, shoot what is comfortable for you, because if you can't shoot it well, then there is no point in having it.
Yes Smith & Wesson does a great job of building guns for sure.I am 1911 and Browning Hi-Power guy but I have to say, I have an M&P Pro .40 and it has been flawless.
Extra virgin synthetic whale sperm. On sale at Walmart thru the second Tuesday of next week.Colt, Glock, Sig, S&W, Browning, FN and Beretta. So many choices!
The REAL question is, what kind of OIL do you use on 'em?
I'm calling BS on all the above, considering the following discovered amongst 'Zilla's personal effects.....Guns are funny things. It's amazing to me how different we all are when it comes to preferences. Not too many people shoot revolvers these days or prefer them to higher capacity semi-autos, but those that do handle revolvers are usually pretty good with them. I can shoot one, but not very well; mostly, because I have always been trained on semi-autos.
However, with all the high-tech cool guns available, my favorite gun is the rifle my brother and dad bought me for my birthday:
Winchester Model 94 .30-.30. Patch busted his *** finding an early edition rifle that is way cooler than the newer ones and hard to find in good shape at an affordable price. He found it though, and he, my parents, and my sister all pitched in to but it for me for my birthday a few years ago. My dad's .30-.30 was the first rifle he ever owned. Our mom bought it for him for Christmas 1971. That man could shoot that rifle like no other. Mine is cool, but not as cool as his.
Actually Steve-O, 'Zilla looked like a young Pancho Villa!I'm calling BS on all the above, considering the following discovered amongst 'Zilla's personal effects.....Guns are funny things. Yep...that's a young 'Zilla in that pic, before he got old and fat!
Those are both fine looking lever actions. I've been jonesing for a Browning lever in .450 Marlin, but one must argue the Winchester 94 is a classic with much better furniture than other makers. They are usually compared to Marlins, and the sleeker look beats the Marlins hands down, IMHO. It is especially true of the more recent Marlins. You have great family members to get you such a beautiful rifle.Guns are funny things. It's amazing to me how different we all are when it comes to preferences. It's not my fault your parents didn't love you and wouldn't buy you a Red Ryder. However, did you notice that my Red Ryder was a lever-action too? Of course you didn't. That just plain cool.......way cool. There was a series on called "Gun Stories" and they did the Model 94 in .30-30. I can't remember the guys name but he is a mucky, muck at Gunsite. He was talking about a "tactical" rifle class that was completely "owned" by this old Texas county sherriff that showed up with his "Thutty, thutty carbine." Said everybody had all these rocked out Scout rifles and AR's and nobody could beat this guy. Some things just get meaner with age, ha,ha. :devil:Guns are funny things.
