Considering another FJR

We should set up a swap deal: you come to the U.S. and ride my FJR for a month, I come to Australia and ride yours for a month. I realize there would be insurance considerations and other conditions but the fundamental idea seems to have merit. In my case, if my Feej was unavailable for a month, I'd just ride my DL 1000 in the interim.

(FJR Steve @ Sep 24 2009, 09:10 PM) I have heard figures of $AUD1200 per week thrown around...for a bike similar in size to the FJR.....are you going to run the numbers and make me an offer I can't refuse?
I really done have any numbers to run, was more or less making the offer as a gesture of good will and not thinking about making any profit here. I don't know you...so the concept of leaving a "Depost" just seemed a good idea.

But if thats anywhere near 1200 bucks US for a week...hell, all I wanted was my bike back in one piece and new rubber if you use it up.

I appreciate the offers, but I would feel more comfortable on a bike that is solely my responsibility. I would hate to damage a bike that belongs to someone else. To damage my own scoot is unforgiveable, but I can live with the results of my own actions.
I know there is always insurance etc...but in the long run, someone is gonna pay, and if I bin it, I'd hate it to be someone else's pride and joy.

I don't think my wife would feel as comfortable on someone else's bike either.

Very generous guys....but no thanks.

FJR Steve,

I've got a 2004 Silver FJR with 9,300 miles on it for sale. Comes with trunk, new tires and Corbin seat (stock seat also) as extras. I'm pricing it at about $7,500.00 US and it's it terrific condition. Let me know if you're interested in it at all.

Thanks FJRTEXAN,

But I am looking at an 07+ model. The mileage on yours is certainly worth the consideration, but I have already seen a 2007 with 6k miles going for $US6900. Now that is tempting.

I'd have to say eBay motors as well, when I bought my 07 AE, I checked eBay o a friends suggestion. I was able to buy one brand new for 12,435 out the door. I saw the dealer invoice. It was just barely over the dealers cost. Well worth a 5 state trip to go and pick it up.
