Hello,

After just getting married and all the lovely time stealers that come with it, I finally got a chance to take my FJR our of the garage last week. It's sat dormant now for quite a few months.

When I stopped for the first time, I noticed a bit of what seemed like a coolant leak on the left side near the fairing. I didn't notice it before I started riding, and I was fairly meticulous checking everything over.

It isn't a lot, but there definitely is some leakage coming from this hose. The clamp seems tight, I didn't want to overtighten it too much.

I took the bike out again yesterday (amazing how much spare time there is when not planning a wedding...) and when I got home, I noticed that same hose had leaked a little bit again.

The coolant level seems fine, but something just ain't right. I'd rather fix a little problem now than a big one next year.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

You probably could dab some FormaGasket into the area of the Radiator Hose (provided it does not have a hole or slice in it) surface where the Rubber meets the Housing and/or Move the Hose Clamp Back or Forward a little to grab some less compressed/compromised Rubber Surface.

Also, check the Other Smaller Hose connections for they can get loose and leak as well.

I had exactly the same problem a few months ago. I still have a few months on my YES warranty so the dealership fixed it. They said it was the thermostat housing and they replaced it (along with a new gasket) but since I didn't do the work myself, who knows. It's all better now. My 2008 had 40k miles on it when it broke.
