With less than a week to go I am in full countdown mode. CFO is part of a larger trip of the midwest to see family, friends and new roads. Due to time restraints I'll fly to the Cities Friday and grab a rented Wingabago for the fun. So looking forward to seeing some of the same faces at CFO last year and meeting some new people. Just leave a big parking spot for the two wheeled Behemoth.

Big thanks to Rick and Gramps for route info and all who worked hard to put this together.

PS Hey Rad, don't let Frank seeing you eye that Honda!

 at least it's a two wheel Winnebago.

I got stuff all over the living room floor, hoping I got enough space to stash it all, the Airedale that I'm the boss of is at number one kids house terrorizing her cat. I'm outta here at o'dark thirty in the morning to visit lighthouses on the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan and the South shore of Lake Superior. Plan on rolling into La Crosse Thursday afternoon.

You Dawgs.....just sayin'...

wish I could be there..

Enjoy...
Well...

If you left now you'd have 96 hours to make the close of registration and it's about 2033 miles according to Google maps. That's a 21 mph average, very doable even for the CBA Prez.

..just sayin'...

It's the per day average that scares him...no more than 100miles in a day...he should have left in April

Maybe DC could give himself a special dispensation, to say come counsel us CFO folk, myself, I could use some almost 500 mile today and 3 lighthouses.

Nope, I'm on the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan.

So you're taking the direct route I see. Haha! Well, if you are going to keep up your lighthouse theme, that one is on the northern shore here

Hey, I'm trying to figure out the best route to CFO, I put in a gas station just up the street as my 'launch point' since I'm sure I'll need to get gas (I was on one flashing bar this morning)...

Here's what google maps said:

Route

Does anyone know if there are any roads with some nice curves I could take instead?

maybe?

Seems to me by heading south and west and back up north you could hit 3 other states before you get there. Just saying...

That's a long haul! Make sure to take breaks, and keep hydrated on you journey.

I'll be down Friday afternoon. :yahoo:

Well while you guys are packing don't forget to bring some extra cash. We're going to have a raffle to raise some mony for n2osx a forum member that had a run in with a car a while back. You can look through this thread for all the details Carl's Crash

Once I get to La Crosse I'm going to look through the boatload of swag 0face has come up with and find something you'll all be drooling over and pulling money out of your wallets to get a chance to win. I'll also have a "Karma Bank" there for folks to make deposits in Carl's behalf.

Is it Thursday yet????

Hanging out in Mackinaw City, MI tonight, sometime tomorrow I'll cross the big bridge :dribble: The reallyBig Bridge!

Stop and eat at Audie's it a small restaurant just at the south end of the bridge. Inside there are 15 or 20 large black and white photos of the bridge being built, very cool. The foods pretty good too, good for breakfast.
