I've been privately trying to entice Skip into joining us on a NE group ride for some time now. I told him his KLR was okee dokee with all us old fogies!! Hell, if we'd put up with 'Busa Boy, we'd put up with anyone!!

Which reminds me (in an offhand, convoluted sort of way) are you going to make this one this time Shawn? Being completely straight up, honest, I'd really like it if you could make it. I've heard some great stuff from other people and I'd really like to meet you. I'm definitely willing to eat some crow.

Come join us. Please.

Not "Covered Bridges" related but wanted to let those New England FJR riders who aren't already following AGirl's fall '09 adventure that she's out there now riding her FJR through some spectacular scenery. Check it out and subscribe to it. It looks to be another epic ride.

It's a 3 1/2 hour ride to N.H. for me. I may need to camp out somewhere on Friday night, but I love riding around in the north country.

Okay, that had me distracted from real work for about a half hour. Wow. Very impressive.

(And wondering the whole time how she affords it - time and money.)

Sort of like the Covered Bridges ride only 9,800 miles longer.

It's looking like there will be several over-nighters coming for this ride. If there is any interest perhaps Fred or I could look into lodging. There isn't much in the Hancock area where the ride begins.

Also, if there is any interest I can collect people coming from remote locations, grope group them up and a lead ride to Hancock like we did from Manchester a couple of years ago.

So, the survey overwhelmingly says we should have the ride on Saturday October 3rd!!

OK, there is not much available around Peterborough, just a couple of Mom and Pop motels. When I checked on room availability I am also reminded that we will be in the peak of the leaf peeping season. For that reason, I would suggest that anyone needing rooms for Friday or Saturday nights find them and get your reservations really soon.

You will likely have a little better luck finding something in the Manchester or Nashua NH areas, rather than out to the west toward Hancock or further west toward Keene. Those areas will fill up with tourists and also demand top $$. There are some bigger chain hotels in Manchester near the airport and also in Bedford and Merrimack, which are just on the other side of the river to the west. Then you can hook up with some folks headed for Hancock on Saturday AM or find your own way, as you wish.

A possible suggestion is the Best Western Executive Court in Manchester It is near the airport, not in downtown Manchester. We have had functions there in the past and it is pretty nice. Price isn't bad at ~$100 with AAA or AARP discount.

If somebody finds a better deal post it up so folks can stay in the same area.

Ok, we have floated the hotel idea, now to wait and see if there is any interest. The Long Island guys and perhaps RI, some CT and MA people will most likely be coming up via Rts 93 & 495 making Salem/Manchester an easier location for them. Most Mainiacs would find the eastern hotel location better too.

Hi Guys,

Felicia and I will likely need to spend the night Friday and perhaps even Saturday.

We now have matching outfits so she's good to go. This is a ride she has wanted to do for a while, and it's not to far for her. Maybe next year EOM

Oh, you guys are gonna be so cute!! :p

As I mentioned, you should try and get yourselves some reservations somewhere soon as the Leaf Peepers will have this area booked up solid very soon.

Interesting website for those who ride in the area.. I know you guys that live up there know when peak season is but I figured the foilage tracker might interest some others as well as provide some other usefull info on rides etc. https://www.newenglandriders.org/Great%20Ro...%20Tracking.htm
Neat find, Taz. Did you try clicking on Oct 3rd in the calendar?

I've got 8 people coming and we'll be calling for camping reservations tomorrow morning, once everyone confirms.

Wowsers. This is getting to be like a mini NEOM (New England Owners Meeting).

Maybe we should look for a bigger venue?

Just kidding...

I'm still trying to keep my focus on getting my crap together for EOM, but I'm pretty darn sure Julie and I will be in attendance.

Fred, I did see you picked the perfect weekend and that website has a bunch of cool stuff, even covered bridges!
