I am new to buying and selling on Craigslist and am wondering if there is a way to do a larger search? What if I want to search for something in the entire State of California is it possible? Also what if I wanted and even larger search area is there a way to do that? All I seem to be able to search is specific cities in a particular state. Anyone help a dummie out?

Just do the Google search trick.

Type "Whatever you're looking for" then a space, then"site:craigslist.org" into any google search field.

Subscribing to the rss feeds is another great option, especially if you search regularly. I have found some great deals this way... or actually with the feed, some great deals found me. By subscribing to an rss feed not only will you be notified every time a new ad meets the criteria of your search but if it is a smokin deal, you may may be able to scoop it up by being the first to respond

As background to all of his, CL has expressly said that they don't want people doing wide-area searches as the whole idea of CL was that it was designed as a grass-roots, no/low-cost way for people to advertise things to local markets. That's why they block referrals coming from aggregation sites.
