Well here is the update, I got an estamate for the damage and was blown away at how much, the subtotal came to $6.681.14 Parts=$ 5,459.84 Labor=$1,356.30 Shop Supplies=$45.00and tax needs to be added bring it to around $7,533.00

I'd be really surprised if the other ins co didn't just want to total it :(

Good luck!
If they total it they will have to give me at lease $8,500 plus tax.

...calling dibs on the new shock. j/k ;)

That is quite an estimate Marcus. I'm afraid you're going to have a fight on your hands with the insurance company. Without including add-ons, the bike isn't worth much more than the repair estimate. Might be time to buy it back and repair yourself...or strip your goodies and find a clean '08.

If you need any help, give a shout. Good luck.

Damn it George, you beat me to it!

Seriously - Marcus, if you end up going to totaled route, give a shout and we'll pull a "strip it" party yo de-farkle the Enterprise. :)

...now, about the Mayer's saddle...

I'll just keep the back half wrapped up here for ya for a bit... ;)

Update, I just heard from Progressive and they wanted to have the shop take apart my bike for a supplement inspection to make sure that the repairs do not cost more than the repair estamate. I told them I don't want to do this and have to wait for parts to be ordered. I told them I have rides planed and the bike is rideable for now and I would go with the original estamateand if it cost more I would pay it. They agreed and they are going to send me a check today. I should be getting about $7,500.00 I should be able to fix my bike for far less than the estamate.

SWEET! Way to stick to your guns Marcus! Let's get a tech meet going and we can all lend a hand to cover the labor for you!

Like those TV shows that build a house in one day, we'll rebuilt the Enterprise in one day!

FWIW, I guess most of us usually think of having a collision with another vehicle as a bike contacting a cage, not another bike. My closest vehicle to vehicle call was with another motorcycle, being ridden by my wife, coming up from behind. Several years ago we were out on a cruise, she bringing up the rear, as is normal with us. I made a sudden decision without signaling to turn around and visit a tourist site. I hit the brakes to do a U-turn, she was not paying the closest of attention and missed rear ending me by inches. For my part, I realized that if she had been in a car, I would have been toast. It scared the crap out of both of us.

That sounds like the best possible outcome. You'll have your bike to ride again right away, you'll have it fixed yourself (so you'll know it'll be done proper), AND you'll have money left over at the end of it.
