Yesterday I went Farkel huntin at the new Cycle Gear they just opened here in town. Of course I already had a few admirers of my FJ one guy asked to sit on it as he has just sold his Connie and was looking for a new ride.

Then out of the blue, a Harley guy comes over and calls my Yami a freakin BMW. What nerve!

Oh for you D&H Guys the Cycle Gear is in Trussville. I picked up a Fank Thomas magnetic tank bag for $20.

They had good prices and a Fair selection.

The Harley guy is just Pi$$ed, because he was told "Buying A Harley Is An Investment" He found out that is not true, and there really is no Easter Bunny or Santa :D

Buying a Harley IS an investment. Just not a good one. But then, what would that Harley rider have known...

I'm pretty sure there is an Easter bunny, he left an '06 in my garage

What was a Harley guy doing at a Cycle Gear? Did they have a sale on '05 do-rags?

You just misunderstood what was "said" and what was "meant". What was said was: "------ freakin BMW", what was meant was: "Damn, that is sooooo cool. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this crap and bought one of those..."

You've got to learn to chill out and laugh with the uneducated and uninformed. When anyone calls mine a BMW, I simply tell them that it is one of the rare BMWs imported from their new Japanese assembly plant.

I never worry about Harley riders (as opposed to motorcyclists who own and ride Harleys). I can't tell the difference or identify half of their models either. To them, we all ride Vespas, anyhow.

I have removed my Yamaha emblems from my tank and I have magnetic BMW emblems I put on my tank to further confuse the uneducated. I have told them this is the new BMW that just came out. It is the first new model since Yamaha bought BMW. :yahoo:

Today I rode with a friend that baught a K1200S the week before last. If I were to take off my side bags we thought the bikes has many similarities in the looks and feature department.. His BMW did have a cool adjust by push botton on the fly suspension adjustment.

The CHP who gave me a performance award 2 weeks ago said the same thing about my FJR, he used to ride a Harley. Funny thing is all harleys look the same to me.

I once had a guy ask me if my bike was a Harley! Can you imagine???

I did a charity poker ride on Saturday and it started at a Harley dealership. There were quite a few metrics there, but most were cruisers. Of the non-cruiser variety there was the FJR, a Connie and a VFR. The guy that signed me up asked if it was a BMW. I said, "Nope." He looked at the bike a little closer and he replied, "I guess that's why there are Yamaha logos all over it! No wonder I thought it looked pretty nice for a BMW."

Just relax -- it's not a harley, and if the guy told you that you were 9 feet tall, you wouldn't get angry -- it's just not true.

People look at my Aprilia and sometimes comment "Nice Ninja!" -- i just smile.

To each his/her own -- I admit, I've seen a custom Harley or two that I've thought "cool!", but I don't want one -- doesn't float my boat!

Look at the old Aerostitch catalog, they have some device (the "Coolness Emulator" i belive)

Coolness link clicky here

that will virtually transform your bike into whatever people you're riding with have... order one, and lemme know how it works.

only $82K --
