You can order all of the K pegs on their siteKuryakyn

old wild bills mounts

Email old wild bill and order just the mounts. One question tho, what is your inseam? Mine is a 31" which allowed me to use the kuryakn 2" offset. If your inseam is longer you might wanna try the longhorn offset which is 3.25" I put a bolt in the mounting plate in place of the peg and put my foot on it and then stretched my leg out and had my wife measure from my foot to the center of the bolt on the wild bill mount to see how big of an offset I needed.

I love the great information in this forum. I ordered the mount from WB and sent it to Garauld to be powder coated in engine grey and I am sure I will have it early next week. I also ordered the following from Kuryakyn. I am 6'5" and I am in bad need of some leg room on this bike and my inseem is 34. Are there others about my size that could tell me if this looks like a good set up for me or if they would recommend something else? Thanks.

1 of 8002 Large Male Mount ISO-Peg (pr): ($44.99 each)

1 of 7996 Offset Mounts (pr): ($49.99 each)

You should first get your WB mounts and put them on. Then center stand the bike and have someone measure from the peg mounting bold to where you can stretch your legs out comfortably and measure to the bottom of your boot. With your height, you might need to go with the longhorn mount(8016 3 1/4 inch) or lockable offset (7937 4 inch). The offset you bought is a 2 inch offset. I have a 31 inseam and the offsets (7996) work great.

You should order the 8064, which is the 2 1/2" iso peg extension which allows you to put your foot on the peg without hitting your leg on the fairing, yet folds up nice and tight to the bike.

Also, if you are set on the large iso pegs, you should get the 7965 ($32.99, which is the large peg, but with no mount end since you should get the extension. Save yourself a couple of bucks. PM me if you want further and good luck.

Rather than starting a new thread I'll latch on to this one. I bought K's longhorn offsets and see a potential issue. Will the weight of your legs on this setup move the offsets that are secured to the plate? It appears that the U shaped washer that secures the offset to the mounting plate was intended to wrap around something to prevent movement when pressure is applied. I can move this with my hands when tightened so I wonder if it could take the weight of my legs. Without the longhorn offsets this wouldn't be a problem.

I have a similar setup. Here is a link to a previous thread where I posted a few pics with my setup. My link The offsets are Kuryakyn #7996 and the pegs are #8002. My legs do rub the edge of the fairing but If I move my feet to the outside of the peg it doesn't. Even when it does rub, it isn't enough to be a bother.

Is there any need to use loctite on the six bolts attaching the two brackets or just on the peg bolt? There did not seem to be any thread lock on the stock bolts that I removed.

That's a good looking set up.

My question is, can I use the factory Yamaha pegs with the Kuryakyn #7996 offsets, or do I have to go with the Kuryakn #8002 pegs?

Your help is very much appreciated.

You wouldn't just move your stock pegs forward onto the WB mounting plates would you? You need both, of course (unless you had a spare set of OEM pegs in the garage).

But you asked if you could use those pegs. No. I have the same setup as K Rider, so I just went out and looked. The Kruyakyn offsets (7996) have narrow slot on a fork-type bracket. The pegs have a single, um, tang that fits into the slot (where the bolt is in the pic). On the OEM footpegs (both for rider and pillion) this slot and the tang that fits into it are much wider. Better use both Kuryakyn parts you listed.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. I have a factory pair of pegs on MCL brackets in addition to the stock pegs in normal riding position.

I guess if I go this route I will need to spring for a set of Kuryakyn pegs.

Again thanks for the info.

The Kuryakyn pegs are nice. Gaudy, overpriced, and look like they should be on a Harley, but nice. FWIW, looking for pics to illustrate my comment, I came across other pegs that looked like they'd work with the K offset extenders. Those rubber pads are a plus, though. My feet used to want to slip off the all-metal Wild Bill footpegs.

Looks nice. I thought, I'd show off how you can get them to blend in with painting (read post below)... them (Gaurald did the powdercoating). :)

Opps... I forget what's painted and what's powdercoated. :)

Just purchased the K products mentioned thru Competition Accessories(no affiliation) after looking for the parts &prices on the K site. U will save yourself about $20 overall on the parts. Just got my parts & will be putting them on this weekend. Thanks for the tips. Sliick :clapping:

Thanks Mike, any alternative to the K pegs would be appreciated.

I agree, the K pegs are a bit gaudy and bulky.

I am not knocking K products, they are good quality, but I would like something less eye catching.

Is there another way to get a hold of Terry for the Wild Bill mounts? I have sent two emails to him and have not gotten a response.

Nice Job, are you going to add one of those cruiser heal toe shifter's next?

Does it slow down your reaction time for the foot brake?

The only time there should be any concern of "reaction time" combined with using the brakes is in an emergency situation. And thinking your rear brake is gonna do ANY good in emergency braking situations is purely wishful. :) :)

I think it should be mentioned that riders should be careful when using HW pegs with long extensions (especially on the left side). There's only (3) M6 screws holding the plates on and it probably wouldn't take a lot of force to start bending the screws or worse, damaging the engine cover/block. Be careful. ;)

I bought some mounts in April and this is the email I used: [email protected]

The one in the post above doesn't work for me either.
