I looked all over to find a good passenger rest and could not find something nice. I decided to make my own. I started from an old office chair backrest..... ($0)
1) Removed the lining to get the inside curved plywood
2) I then cut the plywood to fit the back of my preferred passenger...
3) I used the metal from the bar that was holding the chair to make a bracket, to which I had to add a small piece of steel tubing and a steel bar at the top to make a T
4) Took the welding machine out and welded it together
5) I had the preferred passenger take the plywood and the bracket to a furniture repair shop to add a nice black material and new cushion ($60)
6) Painted the bracket black
7) Ordered 3 off M8 x 75 MM Socket Cap Head Screw from McMaster ($6.69)
8) Bolted everything together: Final cost: $66.69
See the picture and tell me what you think
