Cycle Pump blew a fuse

I did a search that revealed no germane topics (why am I defending myself?). My point was that I had a mental model constructed from use of the same compressor on different bikes' auxiliary plugs. When the fuse blew, my surprise was compounded. Supposing I'd gotten a plethora of responses to the effect of "That should never happen. The plug's rated to 20GigaAmps of power." I'd then know something was anomalous.

Instead, I've found the first (to me) design flaw in an otherwise wonderful bike.

You're defending yourself b/c, as the typical man, you didn't read the instructions thoroughly before use

. Your owner's manual clearly states,

"the accessory connected to the auxiliary DC jack should not be used with the engine off, and the load must never exceed 30W (2.5 A), otherwise the fuse may blow or the battery may discharge.".

Whatever you think the bike is or is not is irrelevant when instructions are used and followed. I suggest you promptly crate up and ship to me the disgustingly inferior POS before any more disappointments and heartache come your way. Don't worry, I'll have it repainted in a respectable color before I take it out in public.

Addendum--I used the Powerlet socket and all is fine. Really--just learning here! Love the bike. Will soon do a ride report on my weekend.

Keep looking....there's a **** load more waiting to be discovered.

Thank gawd the "state" has ingrained a tolerance policy towards those less enlightened.

Bust needs to explain the technique of Manual Stimulation of a Tire Pump!

Yeah, that's the way to go. I actually planned it that way when Installed my Powerlet socket for my gps. I got an in-line fuse holder (for the same fuses the bike already uses) and put a 7 amp fuse in it. That way I could power my compressor, plug in a battery tender, etc. since I wired it directly to the battery.

Indeed, but it's still a wonderful bike. And if you look hard enough, you'll find plenty of flaws on pretty much every bike.

PS. While you are at it and have that owners manual open, go look at the luggage/subframe situation.
