I want to put two big ( 24'' ) Yamaha fork decal on the fairings.

Now the company I am dealing with in Montreal ask me for a picture if I have one.

Saw one on this forum a while ago on a 03 FJR, couldn't find it anymore.

Anyone could help me on that ? :clapping:

Pierre,

Just above freezing here in the North. Probably a bit milder down in Umbria where your relatives are (great area, I'd love to be able to leave Milan and move to Umbria...yeah, someday  )

Yeah, that is pretty kewl stuff. I remember seeing this before last year. I tho't it was neat .... boss ... far out! .... excellent .... and such.

Matter o'fact, I think Yamaha shoulda done this to their bikes in the first place.

If someone can figure out how this can be cut and installed, lemme know.

Thanx for the question, bro .....

Installation is just an artist's trick.

It is realitively easy.

You need:

1. The decal, of course.

2. A much smaller version of the same decal.

On a transparency if you have an over head projector.

On paper if you have a opaque projector. (cheap ones available at teacher stores)

Electronic if you have access to a PC projector.

3. One of the above devices to project the image onto the bike.

Use the projector to shine the image onto the bike.

(move in and out to match the size of the decal)

Then cut and lay the decal over the projected image, a piece at a time.

Time consuming. But the result will be as perfect as your patience.

If you are a perfectionist:

You must be way careful of any surface grime or imperfections on the paint.

They will show up though the decal. Especially, if you a wrestling with a large decal.

If you can pressurize your garage with a filtered window fan, for a day before hand,

you can eliminate dust particles getting under the decal. Not many people have access to a paint both.

Otherwise, just avoid doing it outside or in a dusty garage.
