A Harley-riding friend of mine took me to the Ojai Deer Lodge for lunch earlier today. It's a burly, Harley biker bar in Ojai. We parked her Softail and my 2006 FJR out front with all of the Harleys. After lunch, I came back to my bike to discover a dent on the key entry part of my FJR's ignition. Some one damaged it while I was eating! I was barely able to get my key in, and now in addition to a dented ignition I have a bent key. I know for certain that my bike was not parked too close to the bikes next to me. I think it was purely an act of hate against a Japanese bike. I'm planning to bring it to the Yamaha shop this week.
Is this a common act of vandalism towards a motorcycle? Is this trivial to fix or does it require a new ignition?
