Dented rim

I caught a hole when riding through a puddle and it put a small dent in my rim. Not noticeable at speed but when riding slow like in a parking lot it can be felt.
Am I limited to only a stock 06-12 rim? Do Gen I rims fit? Are there any aftermarket rims or wheels from other makes that would work? Brand new wheel cost $709 + tax and labor and I was told they are on back order until June. I have seen some used wheels but do 't know about fitment.

Any help is appreciated.
05-07 ABS will fit. You can find them used on eBay frequently for about $180 w/o the rotors. Just move your rotors over, but get new bolts as you will need to heat the bolts up to get them broke free.

Yes, front only. Finding out that a 05 ABS would work as well helps a bit. I have seen some 06 rims listed on eBay and a few 05 wheels that didn't specify ABS. Some said possible dents which made me a bit cautious about pulling the trigger and buying them.

Also looks like it messed up the seal on one of my forks as it is leaking a bit of oil. So I already have to take it to the dealer to get them fixed so I was trying to minimize how much I had to spend.

Do a search for SealMate on the forum (or Google) before you pay the dealer to do the forks. Pretty good chance you can stop the leak for (almost) free! Lots have people have fabricated their own copy using a plastic milk jug or a piece of 35mm film.

But would sealmate fix it in this situation where it could have been damaged? It is a direct result of the impact and not dirt getting in between the seals. Unless you think the jolt could have sent particles in there which is causing the leak. Or is just that it may need to be reseated? The Bin 'O facts link to fork oil is no longer working so I have to see what I can do if I may have leaked too much oil.

It is easy enough to check the oil level and bring to the correct level if it is too low.

Even a few millilitres of leakage makes an awful mess although this would not materially affect the operation. (Did it leak a LOT?)

The leaky fork might or might not have been the result of damaging the seal with the hit. (I think it would have to be an awfully hard hit to ruin a seal.) In any case, it costs nothing to try the SealMate and you might save a bunch of cash.

Note: If you are doing the seals, do both sides and do the bushings at the same time. Won't be cheap if you are getting it done by the dealer.

I can't say for sure how much I lost but I did ride it for a while and there was gunk and dirt accumulated on my forks. I have been avoiding it recently so it is something I will have to look into. I will definitely try to clean and reseat them first. It doesn't hurt to try and saving money is always good as long as I am safe and nothing happens to the bike mechanically.

After reaching out to a few of the sellers, one was able to get me an 07 wheel that he is said is not dented and as straight and true. Hoping to have it be early next week.
