Now that the new toy is in the barn I started looking for ways to mount my escort8500, seems challenging and I would like to know how some others have found ways?

mine merely industrial strength velcro to the top of the front brake master cylinder...no problems after a year like that

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mine mounts to the brake resevoir with a custom made mount. I know it's custom, I made it :p

I, too, use a RAM magnetic plate and a RAM ball mount. Mine is connected to a cover on the clutch reservoir but there are lots of options for installing the RAM balls.

+1 on magnetic plate and ram mount connected to front brake master. I add the plastic cover option when it rains. Got all my parts from cyclegadgets.com

Likewise-and while I wuz at it I fabricated a metal strap that fits over the Escort and locks down with a small padlock-heps keep it there when I'm not looking..probably not foolproof but along with the Gorilla pager it seems to work.

Mine is on a dash shelf under a homemade acrylic cover. If you plan to add other devices you may want to consider a shelf.

I went with the antenna mast option. My V1 is in the box in the center of the mast.

Wow...does the snorkel work well for river crossings and the like? Seriously, this is an amazing setup. I think I would stop to stare if you came rolling by.

Gotta ask - what's in the bottle hanging off the back?
Nitrous?

CO2 for your beer tap?
That has got to be an overflow reservoir for the auxiliary fuel tank.

Kind of silly, since the original tank just lets the overflow drip on the road, but one of the IBA rallies requires it.

Hold it in your mouth. Nice, high location, and easy to tell when receiving a signal.

I took my 8500 out of it's housing, stuck it in a zip lock bag and velcroed the bag in the cowl under the headlights. I also use a HARD system in my helmet.

My philisophy is that if you get lasered, you're already GOT. And I get so many falsies, I usually just turn laser off.

If/when I get pulled over, the 8500 isn't noticeable, and it's not making any noise. I turn off my HARD when I pull my helmet off, and face it away from the LEO. May not help me any, but that's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.\

Also, I don't have to worry about it getting wet. And I can still plumb the audio into my intercom if I want to. Just don't want to. Rather have that red flashy in the corner of my eye...

I have my Valentine1 mounted up for over year now. I have the Audio Remote into my Starcom system and the concealed display mounted under the speedo. I have full front & rear protection. love it...

So how well does it work???? I've been thinking about doing something similar.
