Disassemble side/rear bag for painting....

would you suggest removing the rivets and only sending half the bag to the painter?
i just took the whole saddle bag(s) to the painter and let him do his magic.

i then had to come home and send the key to him via usps because i'd left it in the ignition and he needed to open the bags to mask them off.
