Do I change them out?

So I've got the front forks off being upgraded by Cogent. I have a great opportunity to easily change out the stock headlight bulbs as part of preventive maintenance and get something different/better. The bike has 15k miles mostly daytime driving with little high beam usage. Do I change them out? I don't want to create a significantly reduced bulb life scenario. If so, what do I put in as replacements (non-HID)? Searching the site, it appears that Osram Night Breakers were a common recommendation through 2010. Is that still the case? FYI, I'll soon be adding some Clearwaters to supplement.

I say don't bother. Wait till one goes out and then replace with something supposedly 'better' if you wish. But then they are relatively inexpensive.

Concur with SkooterG..... don't bother, particularly if you are just going to replace them with similar halogens.

Wait till one burns out, then replace them *both*. Trust me - believe me - the way this works is as follows: when one H4 burns out, the other will follow in an amazingly short period of time...

The OSRAM Nightbreakers are awesome for 1/2 the price of the PIAA crap.

Sylvania Sliver Star Ultras, 55 watts like stock but alot brighter, about 50 bucks each. Nothing special but cost alot less then PIAas. they last along time as well.

Giving this feedback, I'm going to hold off replacing them now. I'll do the night breakers once I have a failure. Heck there may be something "better" by the time one fails. :sarcasm:

They made the wire glow white hot instead of red hot. The ones that glow red are for night vision ya dork.

I don't profess to know a whole lot about different brands but wouldn't a 'lumen output' comparison be useful?
