My farkle list (so far) is:
stock tall ahamay screen is still summer screen (so far)
Russell seat ( raised up 1 1/2-2 inches - my buns & knees thank me every LD ride )
Rifle screen (tallest they'll make, +3 width) - OK for protection, still some wind noise
CalSci Tall screen - OK - noisier than the rifle but doesn't look like a barn door - that said, I think the rifle is going to be my winter screen...
Man horns
Givi C46
Moko sliders
front fender extender (no screw, I know how to use glue)
Bought Phillips HID's, changed my mind, sold 'em
Fork brace (winter project)
Handlebar risers
Throttle lock
Bar ends
Xena bike alarm
Sounds like alot, but that's been over 17 months since I picked up the bike. I thought about a GPS, then figured there was no immediate need so I'll wait until I have to.
Music provided with a 20GB iAudio X5, home CD collection culled to record 90+ CD worth of tunes at OGG quality level 8 playing into Etymotic ER6i's. Still have 9 GB left & lots more CD's to choose from... Out & back from WFO5, playing tunes in alphabetic order, got to the R's by the time I got back home.
Neatest thing for me is, I still love riding this bike ! Did a 3 hour jaunt last night just because I didn't want to stay in the house, came back in smiling...
Oh sorry, forgot. The shock difference is the difference between the shocks on a family automobile (there the job is to isolate you from the road) and what you would find on a decent sports car (there the job is to provide road feedback & keep the tire on the road as much as possible). More planted, less floaty, slightly harsher ride but better tire contact & cornering control. If you do the rear shock do the front springs too - less braking dive, firmer ride & less tendency to be driven crazy by washboard surfaces.
