Them little voices usually are there for a reason. Hard to listen to all of them, but you should listen, they are telling you something important, you just have to sort it out.

Sorry to hear about your bike....it really bites when your bike gets backed over. (trust me on this...my NEW bike, with 240 miles on it was sitting parallel parked in front of the COURTHOUSE in the dead center of the parking space while I was getting the "new vehicle inspection" done when a moron in a 4wd Dodge backed over it ("I didn't see it"). Now bear in mind that he was about 6 feet back INTO my space when he hit it....
Short story, $1600 in front fender, wheel, brake assemble and saddlebag. Since then I try to avoid parallel parking B)

While you're at it, how's about a little Howie prevention with a fresh CCT?Done shopping, $706.19 on his amex and I'm happy once again.Might need to hit him up for a case of beer once everything comes in.
Bike needs a good tare down and rebuild. Get in there, tighten and clean up everything under the cowling.
Could use a coolant change while I'm at and I'll put a new battery in there as well. I'm still on the original 2003 battery!

My son left the 4 wheeler behind my F250SD one day and bang! :angry: . I did look but it was so close to the truck and all i couldn't see it if i wanted to. A couple of new little dents in the tailgate. Ah what the hell it's a truck right! I just added some Character to it. <_<

It was his fault? The bike was still vertical until the truck guy knocked it over.
Just because he was somewhat careless about where he parked doesn't relieve truck guy from being responsible.
My wife got pissed when I stood behind my car as she was trying to park behind me in the driveway (to make room for house guests). Later that weekend when he brother-in-law pulled in behind me and parked his Caddy SUV by braile (setting off my car alarm) I looked at her and said, "this is why."

Yeah, I'd say that truck guy was technically responsible. That said, I would never park where I was blocking someone in even with my truck. You never know what kind of emergency might come up.

So maybe whether you should listen to the voice in your head or not depends on how crazy you are. We'll measure that on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being Spock and 10 being Tom Cruise that day when went on Oprah.

I guess once in a while, they're right.
So we've got a beautiful weekend coming and I can't ride my bike.
I guess that means I've got to do more work around the house, which honestly I don't mind.
Ride safe, and most of all park safely this weekend!

This is what I keep thinking. If he parked in a way that blocks the truck from leaving, then he caused the problem. Do I understand that correctly? And if someone parked a bike behind my F150 in that manner, I wouldn't even see it through the tool box until too late. When I go to back out of a parking spot, I don't do a walk around to see if someone hid something behind my tailgate. Jes Sayin...
Then again, maybe I am misunderstanding this?? I can't believe that everyone thinks the truck is at fault.

I am as confused as you are. I wouldn't have the balls to ask the truck owner for compensation for parking behind him like that. What if the guy had an emergency had had to leave very quickly ? I can understand if the bike was in another parking spot behind truck but this has me scratching my head in disbelief :crazy:

I watched a few hundred episodes of daytime court tv last summer while my pelvis was healing, and if this went down the way I'm picturing it, the truck was legally parked and the bike sounds like it was improperly parked. I'm sorry to hear about the incident, but if it were me, I wouldn't have had the balls to ask the other guy to share the cost, let alone foot the whole thing by himself. Ouch...
