At the risk of being seriously dog piled into the great abyss...

Ahem...

Those of you who are locking in your vacation time based on ANY DATES GIVEN previously, STOP RIGHT NOW.

You've all heard about the proverbial monkey wrench? Well, a big mother ****** of a wrench just got tossed into the gears.

Stay tuned to this Bat Thread for any addition information. We should have resolution by the end of next week. Hopefully.

-'El Jefe'

May I politely request that we keep this thread on track so that we can be sure that everyone gets the scoop as TWN updates it? Please.

I've requested an admin lock.
Done.

Breath deep, people. Sometimes, **** happens.

However, like many here, the WFO Staff has been a little preoccupied this week.

As 'El Jefe' said, this will get all nailed down soon.

If we can't shoot the messenger, would someone please let us know who we can shoot??!

I don't think I could do it better, so I'll be patient. Thanks for the update.

I'm just glad we have you doing this. Pretty tough to get all this stuff together for XXXX number of attendees. Thank You, Tim for taking care of us!

:eek:k: Thanks for posting that up Timba, er was that Dumbo? I was going to set up the time off tomorrow.

It's a real ***** trying to change vacation schedule at work. Real :******: about that type of thing.

:jester:

Me too, but there are many other ways to arrange time off at the fire department. Shift trades, CTO, holiday time off, etc...

It's actually a pretty good gig, if money isn't a high priority. We're probably the lowest-paid superheroes out there, compared to cops, baseball, basketball, football.

:yahoo:

Maybe it will end up being on MY birthday this year! (instead of Penney's, for a change)

glad I read this before Monday! (I was going to put in the PTO requests)

Fortunately, I could probably wait until the week before to make the PTO request; it's the hotel, travel arrangements I'm concerned about...

My rule for volunteer jobs - don't complain unless you can and will do a better job. No complaints from me!

Gunny!!!

Currently doing the conference planning gig for a spring conference and there always seems to be miscommunication and SNAFUs. Especially, when there are a lot of meddlers, so good luck with setting dates; patience and perseverance will pay off in the end.

I am also doing the planning for a large conference next September in Wyoming. We have had a signed contract with the hotel for well over a year, but due to problems with the hotel management beyond our control, we will have to change the dates. It's a huge ***-pain, but these things happen. My condolences and appreciation go out to the NAFO planners.
