WOW...!!
Received my Doug Hines risers this day and couldn't wait to hook 'em up. What a nice addition to the FJR. Doug did a really nice job with the risers and excellent customer service, too.
As I've said before, I'm not much of a wrench, but I've had the handle bars off a couple times. Installing Doug's deals went pretty much uneventful. Cables and all the wires were no problem. There's plenty o'slack on my bike. Took me 'bout 30 minutes. YEMV.
Took the FJR out for a ride and I was surprised how well Doug's deals worked.
I ran off a quick back road's 60 miler and I'm pleased to report that there was NO numbness or pain in my hands. First time for the "FJR is Perfect" for me, BTW. 6' 2" 220elbs 35" inseam 35" sleeve Bursa 380 auto.
I tol' you bastads before. It's the riding position of the FJR that lends to this numbness and discomfort in our hands. Those that don't have any are .... well .... Neandertals (you can add the "H" if y'all like). Some of us are more 'sensitive' than others. Where's the aloe vera? And, my ******? :yahoo:
Whatever.... Doug did a great job on these deals. Anyone with some kind o'hand, wrist, arm discomfort should consider these risers. Yeah, I'm more 'up right' than before, but my CalSci X-large windscreen is still workin' fine. I may be more 'touring' and less 'sporting', but I don't give a hoot. Better for me is better, eh.
Adding the following after market stuff and mods has made this VERY ergo-uncomfy (for moi) bike much more cozy, tho not a WING or BMW :
CalSci X-large windscreen
Grip Puppies
Palm Rest (VP jeans website)
Bicycle gloves (with gel)
Doug Hines risers
and ....
Throttle cable slack removal (great to do for the herky jerky)
Barbarian Mod
CO increase +7/+8
Middle throttle spring release
What's next?
Custom saddle for my arse (wish I had a seat pan sans the 'other stuff')
Rider's back rest (this is a prerogative)
Honda WING horns if they fit (yeah, I know ... who needs horns?)
More farkels to come I suppose, eh.
