Dragon & Cherohala Ride

Here are some piccies of our trip, I'll prolly post them in stages as I do not have time to get them all in at one time. The first few are of the Cherohala Motorcycle Resort. This is where we stayed. The place is farily new and they are still expanding. They will close at the end of October and during that time they plan to enlarge the pavillion and enclose it. They will add some deluxe cabins which will have a kitchenette and private bath. The cabins you see in the piccies are heated and cooled and have a set of twin beds.

There were some other campers there when we arrived. They are members of adventure riders.com, a southeast regional chapter. Most were riding vintage BMW's and some were riding newer GS's. A fun group of guys and gals.

These next few are of the Cherohala Skyway ride. We started this ride the next morning after our arrival.

Excellent pics, I had a great time there a year ago April. So many great roads to ride in the area. Love to take the FJR there and may next year....

The start of day 2 was not ideal riding weather. Overcast skies, cool air and a steady rain set in. My 2 buds were not much in the mood to ride but I managed to get in a short one. Back to the Cherohala for another photo op

I knew the clouds would be low and this is the reason why I took this ride back up the Cherohala.......for those who don't know how the smokey mountains got their name these next few pic's should make it clear

Excellent piccies please do keep 'em coming. Have well over a dozen runs on the Dragon in the last two years and already dreaming of the runs I'm gonna make there come spring time. I have never stayed there for autumn color but after seeing your pics I am sure to make catching color time next year a priority. many thanx
