Driveline Whine

Been lurking while I waited for my '06 to arrive...picked it up May 3d...taking it in for 600 mile service tomorrow morning...the driveline has a distinct whine when under power, in all gears, and at all speeds...as speed increases whine becomes higher pitched...is this just an idiosyncrasy of this bike or should I be concerned and bring it up to the dealer?

It's the turbine w/ sack heater option's normal operational noise

Thanks for information on the straight cut gear noise...never experienced that sound on any other bike I have owned...guess I'll get better ear plugs and go ride...

Coming off an old HD, I can't hardly tell sometimes when this bike is even running, lol. Killed it at a light once and couldn't get that twisty thing on the right to work....how sweet the sound it is. PM. <><

That lil bit of gear whine along with the deep intake growl (loooo tho...) is just FJR music! OTOH if you want to hear a horrid sounding bike try a Honda ST1300....sounds like a teapot about to boil over. No bike should sound like that, but STs all do...yukk! Having had an '03 FJR, '04 ST1300 and now the new bluuu FJR....itzah keeper!!! Enjoy! DFO
