Now that DuHamel is probably gonna be out for a while https://www.superbikeplanet.com/2007/Aug/07080817u.htm , I wonder if they'll give Josh Hayes a SB ride (not sure that they'll put his supersport and FX championship possibilities at risk) or if they'll bring in Hodgson? Neil already has ties into

Honda, he's rumored to go to TenKate next year, and did a stint on the Corona Honda at Laguna Seca.

Kenny Roberts, Jr? He isn't doing the MotoGP thing anymore this year.

Chaz Davies opened a lot of eyes during the Laguna Seca MotoGP race.

Maybe they'll call Anthony Gobert :)

I really don't care who replaces DuHamel. I wanna know when they're finally gonna fix that freaking turn at RA. How many people have to suffer career ending injuries or death before the AMA and WERA say NO MORE.

I hear ya, but, I don't think either will say NO MORE. I wish they would have kept the gravity and redone the tunnel turn rather than doing what they did. I've seen more than enough people come tumbling down that hill than I care to remember. The worst I saw was Mike Harth in 94? at the Formula USA event. I remember it like it was yesterday.

wait...was it the tunnel turn at the top of the hill or the right hander at the bottom of the hill?

if it's at the bottom, there's not doubt that it's an absolute mess. saw sadowski take a nasty spill

the more i read/hear about it, the more i hear it's a fluke event that happened. if true, the airfence lifted up when the bike hit it and he slid underneath it.

Don't count Miguel out just yet. He's ridden through severe injuries before.

I'm not a huge fan of Honda or Miguel, just giving credit where it's due - he's one tough SOB and I would not be ONE BIT surprised to see him back in action this year.

After what Josh Hayes has done for Honda the last two years, I think he deserves a shot.

Didn't go-show burn some bridges at honda a few years back?
Aaron not Anthony.
And that's why I should stay off of forums after being up for 20+ hours :)I don't know that he has any/enough seat time in a superbike seat. I would imagine they're looking for someone who will be competitive out of the gate rather than using this as a tryout process.

Next year...absolutely! This year, he's a little tied up trying to win 2 championships.

Yeah, GoShow Anthony has had some difficulties, but Aaron is ready to rock and he's Cali based now with his other brother. Miggy's good but at 43 it's time...

Too bad it isn't the end of the season. Yates could probably make that 1000RR turd go better. It sure would be more fun watching him on it than Miggy. Course Honda could give it a lot more power so it doesn't get yanked so bad on the straights.

If they gave it more power, Miguel wouldn't be "boring" in third place.

As dull as he appears to be. Miguel could rise from his hospital bed, get on a 250 Ninja, and smoke ALL our ***** at any track you wanna pick. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a Miguel or Honda fan, but the skillset at that level of competition is so high, it's often incomprehensible by the average motorcyclist.

Add Miguel's age and competitiveness - you've got a superstar who won't be duplicated any time soon. (Although Mladin may continue to be the world's second biggest ****** well into his 50's.)

In your humble opinion, who's the world's first biggest ******?

Miguel: Altho I don't consider myself a Miguel fan, I do admit he's entertaining and can really put on a show at times -- pick-up crashed bike at Daytona and carry on at competitive pace....! In an interview at Daytona he admitted, "I've only got six, maybe seven, more competitive years left...."!

But -- on TV at Laguna Seca during MotoGP qualifiying; in a paddock scene, Miguel sure had a 'deer cought in the headlights look'; maybe? 'a fish out of water' -- and his performance there may have supported those thoughts...?

Yeah, I think he's pretty much through. I believe his Laguna comment on pulling off was, " I wasn't feeling it." Frankie Chili has him beat by a longshot as far as racing long in the tooth is concerned, and being more than competetive. Shoot, Hodgson had him(MD) smoked on a privateer CBR and that was only Neil's second time on an I-4!!? Give it to Josh or Aaron. They've earned it and they are respected by the rest of the AMA field.
