Today was the day! :clapping:

Our mini DVD with the AZ Beemer guys.

Honestly I have been looking forward to this day for a few weeks now. Many thanks do Don aka. beemerdons for posting about this ride and letting us Feejer riders tag along.

There were a total of 5 BMW’s and 3 FJR’s… We may have been outnumbered but we were faster!.... More on that later…

The day started off cold and foggy in Vegas. Foggy?!!! In Vegas?!! Unusual but true. Lee, Steve and I met bright and early and were on our way by 7am….

We met up with the BMW guys just before 8am at the Pahurmp Nugget.

Next stop was Furnace Creek for a late breakfast.

Guess who we ran into down there?.... Here is a hint…. He makes highway pegs for FJR’s…(among others)

After gassing up we had to run over to the information station to pick up our passes for the day.

Next stop was just past the ranger station about 3 miles before Scotty’s Castle. We had just finished a “spirited” ride. 2 FJR’s and 2 Beemers…

Looking over the valley…

We took a quick detour to UBEHEBE CRATER and got very windblown.

Looked like a nasty storm but it stayed away from us…

Next stop was Scotty’s Castle. If you have never take the tour it’s kind of interesting. I also took a lot of photos inside. Link to the pictures is at the bottom.

Scotty’s Parking lot…

After Scotty’s Castle we headed on out to Beatty NV for gas. On the way I got a chance to explore top speed on the FJR. Let’s just say I was pretty damn close!!!

Post gas we stopped in this little ghost town.

After that we headed back to 95 toward Vegas. The BMW guys took a right on 160 back to Pahrump and their hotel and us FJR guys headed back home.

After all was said and done I showed 375 miles covered on my GPS.

Thanks again Don for coordinating this and it was great to meet all the AZ Beemer guys. We will definitely do it again next year. If not sooner!!

Here is the link to all the photos: DVD Ride Photos

The only spot we missed was Badwater but Lee, Steve and I may go next Saturday. (Cause Sunday is the big game you know)

If anyone wants to go let me know!!!

Then I will have anoter report!! Later!

Great pics! I'll be headed for DV over Prez Day weekend... the place is something you have to experience first hand to understand the desolate beauty and grandeur of the desert. B)

Way cool spyderbret! Even with all those Beemers cluttering up the views. :D

I too, hope to be making the journey to the Valley of Death in the coming weeks.

(Can't believe I've never been there on a bike.)

Great seeing all of these photos. What sort of temps? Wind?

OM- Wind was pretty light most of the day, except for the crater. Temps ranged from mid 50's in the morning to upper 60's around Furnace Creek.

If you need a riding partner look me up when you head out this way (that goes for you too Tyler).... Now is a great time of year for it!!!

Spyderbret, great ride and ride report. I had a great time. It was fun riding with the Beemer guys. especially Crazy Dave. Us gray haired guys can still ride fast. Looking forward to next Saturday.

Thanks for the great pics. We (Dad and I) make an annual m/c pilgrimage to DV in March/April. We're discussing the 2009 trip now.. May stay in Beatty this year for a change rather than Furnace Creek.

Prior years were on my HD Dyna Super Glide Sport, but this year will be the feejer!

I am looking forward to the superb desert scenery, and exploring the "legs" of Francisco. I'm betting that we'll see 135 easy based on how effortless the ton is achieved.

That little ghost town in the pics (outside of Beatty) is Rhyolite. The train station there is really cool.

Ride safe.

Cool pics. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Being there on those GS's would of been too tempting to leave the pavement pricess FEEj's on the road and go off exploring again. We took our GS's last time out.

Rhyolite is okay but if you want a ghost town, it Bodie all the way. Check it out for those that haven't.

Bad water is about 20 miles off the cut off to Rhyolite. Worth the trip if you are into that stuff.

We logged over 600 miles INSIDE Death Valley the weekend we went. About a 1/3 of that, off road.

Again, good to see the pics and hear everyone had a good time.

Bret, Lee and Steve: We really enjoyed riding with you on Saturday! Crazy Dave and I are planning a Devil's Highway Run.

We'll pick a weekend in August or September that works for your schedules. We'll book the AZ Alpine Inn for a Saturday night that works out for you three and "race" Highway '666'! "Old Age and Treachery Overcomes Youth and Skill Anyday!"

Don, that sounds good to me, count me in as long as I am not out of town for work.
