OK then .. 2 weeks in June and on the road. First week with the Gfrans, Gary and Cindy, then we break off on our own after Rapid City, SD and return to Sacramento, CA the longish way back.

Great, great vacation … over 2000 photos and many wonderful sights, and only 1999 I’ll attempt to post here cause one didn’t come out

Seriously … how to post pics (Photobucket willing !) that are representative of two fantastic weeks ? …. I’ll give it a shot later but first tell you we saw …. The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, wicked fun twisties between those sights, The magnificent sights on the Beartooth Hwy – whoahhh! And much, much more.

After breaking off from the Gfrans we headed south to Arches National Park, Moab, UT and Marble Canyon, AZ. Back up through UT and into NV where we took The Loneliest Hwy (which I don’t care if I never ride again !!

), Hwy 50 --- Eureka to Fallon = 190 miles of …. nothin’ .. apologies to the Nevadans here.

Gary and Cindy headed east to New Jersey where they had a new granddaughter awaiting them – good for them.

Thirty + pix (hopefully !) to follow, I'll let them do the rest of the talking -- bikes, sights, peeps and food, a mix -- thanks for looking guys n gals

Fantastic vacation which my heart says “do it again Rog” --- my arthritic knees, ankles and hands tell me otherwise. Ha !

Cindy, Deb and Gary, starting the vacation with a good breakfast. We had no trouble keeping the Gfrans in sight :)

Good to hear you've still got some get-up-and-go Rog - not bad for a man of your age.

Funny, at the WCR get-together, FJRay was talking about Hwy 50. His opinion was the same as yours.

Looking forward to the pics.

Two months younger Al.

I went into your link.

opened up the set of photos...

clicked on the image tab (which copies the code)...

pasted it in a reply (ignoring the message that says whatever it says)

Don't feel bad...this latest version of the software is not user friendly at all...

Right in Yellowstone, what I figure would be a 4 star restaurant ... real nice surroundings and good food.

Our waitress had one of those real cool gravelly voices

And Old Faithful .. was. Every 80 minutes give or take 10 ...

Also didn't realize just how many other geysers are in the park !! - absolutely littered with them !!

Colors and formations like these were truly amazing .. glad we got to see them.

This one one sight that a camera just can't do justice ... not even close. Coupled with the roar of water .. excellent !

At least once we had to stop for one of these fella's to cross the road in front of us. Having a bike similar to a red flag crossed my mind :))

Been hearing about the Beartooth for years....... sooo glad we got to ride it. Just exceptional. One of the trip's highlights for sure.

Open spaces ---- yeahhhh !!

Zip-a-dee-do-daa Mr Sheriff .... cool little town.

We can now scratch this "sight" off our bucket list... bucket still is pretty full though, and "Time is on our side" --- Rolling Stones -- very apt.

The story behind this is just ... well ... ...... crazy !! Probably won't be finished in my lifetime ... maybe our grand kids ??

Not the largest selection of rock formations, but certainly among the most beautiful. A storm started to kick in as we were riding out of the park ---- kinda surreal feeling.

Makes you realize just how small we humans are.

Gotta have coffee !!! And this was a good'un :). Good coffee and .... great Gelato ! A real surpise.

Marble Canyon ....and the Vermillion Cliffs ... love this area. Desolate and beautiful. Only two places to rest yer head, -- Marble Canyon Lodge where we stayed on a previous trip, and Lees Ferry Lodge which was a treat.

The restaurant and bar staff were warm, friendly, and pretty humorous. The lodge itself I'd recommend ... if you like the absence of a TV and internet. Pretty cool and very rustic.

The Loneliest Hwy .. Hwy 50 .. looked and felt like this after a while !!

One of the few olde tyme trappings in Eureka, NV. Imagine crossing Hwy 50 in this !!!
