yrt is supposed to be yet. Sorry, I couldn't change the topic title.

As I had mentioned a while ago about the portable air pump plug in. The wire that I have hooked directly to my battery that I hook my battery tender (via a SAE two prong connector) to has a 7.5 amp fuse. The specifications from the pump mfr (Airman Sparrow) calls for a 10amp fuse. So I ask, for the time it takes to inflate a tire...will that baby (the 7.5) blow..or if I remove the 7.5amp fuse and replace it with a 10amp fuse, will that same tire inflation time period cause those wires to heat up to a potentially dangerous (melting) level?

I'd just run it with the 7.5 amp fuse. If that blows, then you can bump up to a 10 amp since its not THAT much bigger, and when you run the pump, just keep an eye on the wires. I really doupt an SAE connector would have a problem holding 10 amps.

Of course, YMMV

I am not aware of any other year's battery access configuration but...

On the '08 it is just 2 screws and a removable plastic rivet to get to the battery.

I purchased a cigarette lighter pigtail from Walmart (you can get them anywhere) and included it in my road bag.

I bought the Husky mini compressor from Home Depot. It fits under the seat in the little compartment and is secured with the OEM supplied bungee.

To get it out and use it is five minutes tops and less to stow it away.

Just remove plastic, clip on pigtail, plug in compressor and inflate away.

Reverse order to return to normal (don't deflate).

Just in case ya wanted ta know.

What size fuse does the Walmart pigtail have? That, my friend...is the key and to answer to what I seek.

Sorry Mogambo for being slow on the uptake.

The one I have comes with a 15 amp fuse that is attached to the red clip.

The pigtail just clips to the battery when in use.

Remove and stow when not.

I hope I'm helping.
