gawd, now I have a Neil Diamond tune stuck in my head. thanks Maryellen

so what if I change the words in my head?......haha

EDIT: If someone wants me to revise my thread title, I will gladly do it....just send me a pm. It was an emotional response to this sudden discovery.
I liked it. That title showed a side of your personality that I hadn't seen before. B)

Photobucket was kind enough to reactivate both accounts - for TWN & Orangevale - but only temporarily.

I'll get with those who've PM'd me to work out details on making the photos permanently available.

I'm at work now, so it won't be till this evening.

Thanks all.

edit - Now I see that Tim's aren't back up yet. Grrr. Time.

No.

THANK YOU! :clapping:

Gee Old Michael, you're the greatest! :)

Seriously. B)

As a courtesy to Photobucket for working with us on this, I suggest folks twitter a positive note about their cutomer service (in broad terms, like: "Photobucket Customer Service rocks! Helps us nicely find some dormant images - thanks Photobucket!"). Make sure to copy @photobucket when you tweet, too, so they'll see the thanks. ;)

Keeping details out of the post ensures they don't get others running to them enmasse for help. ;)

Okay, my friends.

Last week, I simply emailed Photobucket, explaining our situation, and emphasizing how important it was to

our forum that these photos not be lost.

I asked if the photos could be transferred to my Photobucket account, or if I could take over the accounts

in question.

Their intitial response was brief. They kindly reactivated the accounts, but noted that

they would only do that temporarily, and would look into the matter.

That was last week.

Today, I received this email.

...Requests such as this must come from a

parent, guardian or the executor of the individual's will.

Please include evidence of the passing of the account holder as an attachment

to this email. Evidence can be provided in the form of an obituary, funeral

notice, death certificate. If you have this information but are unable to

provide it electronically, other arrangements may be made, but please keep in

mind that response time on faxed notices is much slower.

We cannot promise that we'll be able to grant the request - but we review each

request very carefully.

Sincerely,

Your Photobucket Support Team

Re: [Ticket#2009112610004697] Question

Regarding account holders -

Andrew Knight (User name - sekrasta)

Tim Bates (User name - twowheelnut)

Unfortunately, (and regrettably) I never met Andrew, and only knew Tim briefly before his passing,

so I'm very hesitant to try contact either of their families with this sort of request.

So, I'm wondering if anyone here stays in contact with the immediate families, and would consider

talking to them about doing this.

(And thank you Duff and tcfjr for your offers of help.)

PM me with any questions.

One thought comes to mind, well two...

1 - obits are public domain, so a bit of searhcing might net us what's needed without disturbing the families. I'm pretty certain this is for Tim... clicky to memorial website. Andrew's obit is here, though will cost 3 bucks to get a copy of (I'm a bit shocked a business charges fo rthis info - wow). A bit more searhcing might uncover it for free. ;)

2 - reaching out to the families explaining what a positive impact their loved ones had on the community, and our desire to continue the memories might be appreciated.

I have many contacts with Tim's family, as does Duff. Less so with Andrew, but will try if needed. PM me OM..

Contact made... things are in the works. Thanks for the offer Richard.

General note... please be patient all, this may take a week or two.

I'll second that! Good the see some of the history of this place and those two hasn't been lost. :good:

:jester:

I agree. Thanks to all who are trying to save the input. I remember some cool ride videos Tim posted up and some pics he posted that are good as well.

Now, can anybody work on getting rid of bustaNut's pictures in his posts?
