Anyone have an "ego wall" of their LD stuff?

I've never had one for anything other than a cert or two on the wall at work and, earlier a Phi Theta Cappa (to keep the riff raff from starting shit).

Follow the end of the 03 IBR, I kept a lot of memorabilia and had my Uncle frame it all recently. He own(s/ed) a framing shop in St. Louis that catered to corporate displays and specialized in sports memorabilia. He did a bang-up job.

To go with all of that was the Finisher plaque, my retirement plaque (which was a test of endurance for the last 5 years - and they even got the time of service wrong by -2 years), and a single frame with all my different IBA cert rides stacked inside it chronologically; the top most being my favorite... Mass Gold.

It's taken 11 years to hang the stuff because the very idea of an ego wall was hard for me to get past.

I thought that the ego wall in this case was the point at which one's ego could not overcome the reality of long distance riding. I know I am not genetically predisposed to ride in events like the IBR. I admire those that have the ability. I had a couple of conversations with John Ryan about the topic. He believed there was a genetic factor in one's ability to go without sleep and remain alert. He said he found he could go ten days or so on one REM cycle per day (about 2 hours of sleep). That 's not me.

I do have an ego wall of all my Army stuff. My wife makes me keep it in the shop.

I've got an Ego Wall, Bounce. It's mostly all of the really impressive stuff I've done in my career in Aviation. Also, some really fun stuff I did in my Squadron on an Aircraft Carrier back in the day. I Love my Ego Wall.. :))

Got some things accumulated over the (many) years, sit around and look at them sometimes and realize they are just momentos of the deeds done to get them. Kind of like my dd214.

That's the kind of thing that took me so long to hang these up. I kept looking at what a great job my Uncle did on the framing every time I opened the closet (where it set) that I felt it was a disservice to let it languish in the dark.

'Like' the large framed collection on the left Bounce.

I had a trophy wall from my years of roadracing. I called it The Shrine. ;-).

Now a dusty trophy shelf in an upper storage area.

Do have a couple pictures and checkered flags in the garage tho'.

Ah, well, Mm, I got an ego file drawer..............does that count?
Why, Yes! Airboss. I do believe a file drawer counts. :)
By the way, were you actually an AirBoss? From what I saw, that took brass nuggets to do that job.

I have an "All About Me" wall at work. A MC pic or two, but mostly shooting, promotion, horse, and misc awards stuff.

Kids are on my desk. I am on my wall. Lol.

Not in the Navy sense of the title.

But of you think that job was extreme, try bossing an Airedale Terrier, 70 pounds of hyper.

think landing a jet on that postage stamp you guys call a flight deck might be easier.

Air boss pretends he was a boss. From what I know of Airdales, that dog laying in the hammock and his furry buddies are the boss.

I have some certs and trophies on a wall in the garage, along with an elevator fixture as the garage door opener. Then Walt starting getting trophies and he's trying to take over my space! My flags are in a box, I couldn't hang them all, and I'd feel bad choosing only certain ones.
