I just got back from the vote count, and I won the election for Police union president. It's already hit the press too! Willamette Week article

I start my new position on November 1. I am very excited! I know there isn't anyone on this forum that was in the election, but I am proud and honored to be serving my fellow officers!

Congratulations. That's quite an accomplishment to avoid a runoff when there are so many candidates in the field. Good luck "representin'."

Congrats Scott :clapping:

IIRC you're a lions fan right? Well if you get extra money for that position ya just won, how about a few bucks to 'em so they can buy a team.

:jester:

Congrats Scott! I don't really know what this involves, but it sounds important. ;) But I suppose it means more work and less riding. :(

Congratulations, my friend! Its a good thing we were not posting pics of your coronation in Park City on your various precincts bulletin boards. Does this mean you will be relieved of your current responsibilities when your term starts? or do you just work 50% more?

"Westerman received 53.7 percent of the 711 votes cast,

Here's how the other candidates fared.

Officer John Grable: 20 percent

Detective Jim McCausland: 10.8 percent

Officer Tom Brennan: 10.3 percent

Officer Pete Taylor: 4.2 percent"

Wow, you must be rich to be able to afford that many bribes!

You must be really popular, well done Scott!

Wonderful! :clapping: I'm sure everyone here is very proud of you.

Congrats. Now get on with the celebrating. :drinks:

Now you will see what people are really like when you take over as president of your organizations.

Good luck and do not lose to much sleep :big_boss:
