...Yes there is a way to check batterries that tell if it is goodor bad. A load tester like they use work about half or less for being reliable. If they would just learn how to use a volt/amp meter ( a good one) they could have solved it in asap. maybe one day they will learn this procedure and use it instead of of a load tester...
I'm not normally a +1 kinda guy, but this earns one so, +1 Also, there is more to properly load testing a battery than just putting it on a load cell.

So, is the dealer smoking this hair line crack?

(if anyone cares about this story any more...)

Just got a call from the service mgr (at RideNow)...apparently the sales guy I talked to on Saturday (when I was asking about a '13...a guy Ive bought 2 other bikes from and is now in financing there) talked to the service mgr and explained all the circumstances, I have been a customer since back when they were Metro Motorsports, etc...and I was told I would only have to pay for 1 hour labor + battery. Theyre now waiting for a battery because they wanted to put a Yamaha battery in instead of one they had on the shelf (I didnt know Yamaha made batteries?).

Anyway. Hats off to them for doing the right thing with me. :clapping:

So that's the story they feed you. Who knows what the actual truth is. ;)

And Yamaha is NOT in the battery making business. They use Yuasa batteries as OEM.

Well, I talked to the sales guy and he told me as much. Unless, of course, the sales guy and the service mgr got together to spin the story first

Then its a Yuasa battery they are waiting for.

Yamaha should be drawn an quartered for first of all...

Not making battery's for these worthless hunks of ****.

***....... I fergot the other reason.

Back in my service writer days, folks folks used to come in to the dealership bitching aboot a flat tire on there brand new G.M. product.

Too bad so sad.. G.M. made the hunk of **** ya bought.. Not the tires dick stick. Call the rubber plantation in Africa.

I wasn't a service writer very long.
