Just got back from ridenow. Theyre going to only charge me 1.5 hours labor + battery. Thumbsup to them for doing the right thing.

I'll be calling Kendall tomorrow, but if he isnt going to get a '13 in anytime soon, I'll be putting a deposit on one at Ridenow. Theyre getting one in 9 days. Calling around to a few shops that were open today, no one had any in stock, and didnt know when they would be getting one.

While I naturally lean toward following the advice of SkooterG, Beemerdons, and the rest, you now have an advantage if stay where you are. If you decide to buy where you are, they are almost obligated to do a lifetime of butt-kissing. You will always and forever be "The guy we screwed up over a bad battery." This may be the best bargaining chip you could have wished for. If so, it will keep paying dividends for years. I am impressed that they were willing to eat all that time and money. It is hard to not respect it when they take responsibility for their mistakes.

Or, you could wait a little and follow some really good advice from some really knowledgable guys. Good luck.

Dude, I get your dilemma before the resolution. And am really glad for you that they stepped up.

Still, you've been warned. I wouldn't buy any bike from any RideNow dealership. Period.

Net work guy glad you got her fixed rather interesting to read. Yes there is a way to check batterries that tell if it is goodor bad. A load tester like they use work about half or less for being reliable. If they would just learn how to use a volt/amp meter ( a good one) they could have solved it in asap. maybe one day they will learn this procedure and use it instead of of a load tester...

+1, Gunny; the Ride Now dealerships were known as "The Evil Empire" 22 years ago when I moved to Phoenix, they're the same fools-cheats-liars-charlatans as they always have been!

OK. I get it. All sales people will rip you off and all techs are incompetent because they work there. I get it.

Any opinions on the former Metro Motorsports?

Network.....these thugs that run arizona here on the forum demand that you listen to them and abide by their rules. Resistance is futile lest you be chastized on the forum. Arrogance and prejudice go hand in hand.

I think that SkooterG and BD are jes trying to save NG some money. They obviously have some emotional issues with the local dealers. I presume this is based on past personal experience.

I see nothing here that indicates that those two are "thugs" or prejudiced. Arrogant? Who knows? BMW koolaid drinkers? Definitely.

I am glad they you got your bike back and are satisfied with the deal you got from the service department.

I suspect.....a feint within a feint within a feint....a blood relationship perhaps, or blood by law and/or even.....ownership?(gasp) A stake in the house perchance? None the less......there is bad blood...and behind bad blood lies a story...

....or a sleeping dog.

Which I appreciate wholly. Ive noticed with other products people generally are displeased with big chain-type stores. In my experience this is simply a matter of location. Ive had both good and bad experiences with small locally owned shops, and with big chain type shops. I think it just depends on staff (duh). Im willing to give Scooter and Don the benefit of the doubt in regards to the referral to the Casa Grande shop (whom I will call in about half an hour to check stock on a '13) and will try and use them in the future for what I can. One problem Ive learned is that they wont perform ANY warranty work unless the bike was purchased there. This poses a problem if I wont be able to get a '13 from them, as I'll be getting a 4 year YES warranty as well. Sure, I could just wait until they get one, but 1. Im not patient; 2. I want to dump my '09 ASAP; and 3. who knows when they might get one.

Anyway, Im not going to try and defend RideNow. There are legitimate complaints against them. However, prior to finding this forum, I bought 3 bikes from them and never had an issue. This battery fiasco is really the first issue Ive had in over 5 years of patronizing them. *shrug*

I could be wrong but I do believe they have to honor the factory warranty no mater where you purchased the bike. They would be stupid not to because in the long run they will make their money from your service work and whatever you send there.

From one network guy to another. If you troubleshot something for somebody like these guys did for you and then found out your equipment was giving a false result would charge the customer for it or suck it up?

The right thing to do is suck it up. You have to do that sometimes when you run a business. They should have charged you for the battery and said the labor for the install is on the house because of the inconvenience to you.

Good luck with your future motorcycling endeavors.

I don't know about Arizona, but here in the swamp every motorcycle dealership is closed on Monday.
Oh. Yep. Theyre closed Sun-Mon. They need to have a custom greeting or something. Guess I'll try tomorrow.
A custom greeting? WTF? I just gave Bustanut joker and RadioHowie your personal phone number Dan, Bust and RH will give you a "custom greeting" when they both get off of work this evening!

Do not put their calls on speaker phone if your wife is at home! jes' sayin' and nuff' said!
