Electronics finally installed

I have finally installed my communication system on the AE. I have had several customers askin to see how I have mounted everything so here is the dash.

I had TechMounts build the custom dual stem mount with a short stem in front and the standard stem behind. I originally intended to mount the GPS in the lower position, but the antennae interfered with the Escort. I mounted the GPS on a Roady Holder and still placed the Sat Radio antennae on top and ran the wire to the Sat Radio in the harness I built. I talked to Mike at TechMounts and have made another suggestion on the lower mount that will make for additional room if you want your GPS below.

I am using a PRO AVI Autocom which had all the neccessary inputs to plug everything in and it is working flawlessly. I can remove my cell phone and place my Ipod in it's place and simply unplug the audio out cord on my Sat Radio and plug it in and switch between them.

You can see the instruments just fine. The camera angle is quite low and I don't know how to take pictures!

The stem nut is replaced with a new one that is drilled and tapped for the stem saddle.

That is sensory overload for my pea picking little brain.

Your guys did a wonderful job installing the motovation sliders, rear powerlet, stem stand, wiring harness for Garmin 2730, adaptor for/and the Garmin 2730, along with the Throttlemeisters on my FJR.

When I picked up my '06 FJR A from you in May, you didn't have any key ring tags with your shop name and e-mail address yet....what's the chance of getting a couple of those gems as the key chain I have with the plastic/rubber Yamaha logo on it keeps coming apart?

I may be headed back your way next year so your guys can install some Ohlins in the front and back for me?

Hoping to pick up a Corbin seat and Smuggler in the next year, but will try and install that myself :dribble:

Velcro is marvelous stuff! I have a patch on the back of both items and it isn't really noticeable.

Nice work. I'm doing a similar install with a garmin 2730 (for gps audio, xm and audio books) and escort with autocom. Garmin and escort are on handlebar mounts (techmount and gadgetguy). My question relates to autocom placement and wiring.

1.Did you locate autocom under seat or somewhere else?

2. I've sent up a relay activited hot power block under the front left side of fairing for power to accessories and intend to run autocom off rear running light. Ground back to another power block wired directly to battery ground for the escort and garmin. Sound about right to you or did you go another way?

3. Audio cables to autocom. any interference from engine or electronics? Did you run them outside of gas tank or directly over engine underneath tank?

4. Did you have to use any modified audio cords (i.e., filters, ground loop isolators, etc)?

I mounted the Autocom on top of the ECU for the /clutch/shifter. I will post additional pictures showing it. I put my relay in the rear and built a harness using standard bullet style connectors to plug everything in. I ran the audio wires directly over the engine heat cover.

thanks for the response. I realize now from looking at your first picture that you've got the clutchless version with associated electonics.

One follow up question....

No electronic or engine noise interference??? So standard audio mini plug wiring is ok? No electronic filters or such needed for you so far?
